32 y/o and experiencing dryness down below ...

Hi all,

I am 32 and because of symptoms I am having and a strong family link, I am awaiting test results to find out if I am in early menopause.

Amongst the other horrible symptoms the one that is really bothering me is vaginal dryness that makes me numb down below and as well as my sex drive has really gone down. Both are very abnormal for me.

I have tried the known brand of lube that you find in most supermarkets and I hate it. It is very strongly perfumed and does not feel or look natural. I miss the creamy sight down below that I know was a big visual turn on for my husband. But also as well, that lube irritates the hell out of me.

So I am asking you lovely people for your tried and successful products that you can recommend for both a boost to the female sex drive (if there is such a thing 🤞) and a natural looking and feeling lube.

Much appreciated 😘

Regarding sex drive there are a few things from reading up about that could help. Obviously this varies from person to person, and can depend on personal arousal levels etc.

However a few supplements I've found worked with my gf are macca root, and arganine.

The macca root is meant to be good for well being and improve mood.

The arganine It's good for blood circulation. So of you are being aroused it can increase blood flow to the erogenous area and therefore improve arousal.

As for lubrication, as a partner, if you were dry I'd use saliva and ensure that you were no longer dry....if you know what I mean, and would ensure this wetness was present prior to penetration. However that could be my limited experience of if and maybe no matter how much oral you recieved the wetness would disappear upon penetration.

Sorry if of no help. Just my knowledge of it.

The known brand you find in supermarkets is not a good lube. Lots of people experience irritation with it and that’s because of the ingredients. It’s not vagina friendly because of all the glycerin that it contains.

Check out Lovehoney’s Enjoy Lubricant, Yes Water Based or Sliquid H20. All of those are glycerin free and great lubes. :)

+1 to the lubes NatandTom mentioned, they all feel MUCH better than 'the known brand'. I'd also throw this one into the mix:

because you say you miss the creamy look and want something that feels more natural. Liquid Silk was the first lube to tick both those boxes for me :)

As it's already been mentioned, supermarket lube is bad for you. Sliquid Satin is made from all natural ingreadient, is very healthy for vaginas, and is made especially for dryness. It aims to replicate the natural lubrication (and can also be used on a daily basis outside of sex). https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=25240
I am very sensitive to lubricants in general, and this one is in my top 3 favourites.

Also, I wouldn't use products like libido enhancers etc as alicia suggested. If you already are having your menopause, talk to your doctor about what your issues are, they'll help you with the side effects. For deyness especially, there are topic eostrogens that tou can use directly inside of youe vagina, which relieves the sexual symptoms (dryness etc) without any systemic effect, plus they are totally safe to use and do not increase your risk of gynecological cancer.

Doctors know about these menopause issues, and there are things to do about it :)

Hey Rachel!

Have you tried the YES brand? It's organic and is actually prescribed by some Drs specifically for vaginal dryness.

We have few different types.

We have water-based: https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=12165 which is suitable to use with toys and condoms

Oil based: https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=12168 which may last longer, and offer a more moisturising effect but is not suitable to use with condoms or toys.

They also make a moisturising gel: https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=38738

As far as I am aware, only the lubricants are prescribed by Drs, but the moisturising gel may be worth a look into!

I hope you find something that works for you :)

This is deffenatly the best lub we have found, does not go sticky, it's lovely and smooth

Remember you can try a lube here and if it's not suitable you can return it if you really want.

I recommend YES lube too. I suffer from dryness due to my medication so nearly always need to use lubricant. I use a little bit of the yes lube every day just to keep things moist down there and it’s really made a difference.
