Hi @carzy - E45 cream is a good start for easing the irritation (unless the psoriasis is on your scalp under your hair, obviously). Beyond that, you really need to see your GP and possibly get referred to a dermatologist. Of course, getting an appointment with either is pretty tricky right now…
Hey @carzy I have psoriasis and have been having treatment for it. My GP previously prescribed steroid creams so for that you would need to speak to them. This was after trying non-steroid creams (as the steroid ones can thin your skin they like trying alternatives first).
I got referred to a dermatology consultant and had phototherapy which worked wonders but that’s not an initial treatment.
The phototherapy nurse recommended me Cetraben which you can buy in shops. Well, you can buy the cream in shops, I personally prefer the consistency of the lotion which I either order from Amazon or get special ordered from Boots.
You could also try taking vitamin D supplements if you don’t already as that has an effect on it with the lack of sunlight.
Good luck & feel free to ask if there’s anything else you want to know that I might be able to help with
I’ve also had the phototherapy and as you say works wonders.I also cheekily asked if they could give me a repeat prescription to two weeks holiday in Greece so I could get enough sun to help.thanks for the advice on the cream and vitamin d think I will give them ago because as you say lack of sunlight
You’re welcome how long ago did you have phototherapy? I know the nurse said to me that the effects last differently for different people. If it’s been a few years you may be able to get another course?
Mine on my arms, hips, stomach and top of my thighs was bad. Have posted most pics where you can’t really see it but there’s one where I did post my stomach and you can see the psoriasis.
Try not to let it define you or put you off posting
