Ask the Moderator: Reviews, Community & Pics

Just a little thanks for keeping the forum the safe/educational and fun place we forumers love so much. Hope you had a relaxing time off.

Not a question, more of an apology Leanne. Sorry that I hadn’t done a better job self-moderating a couple a photos yesterday, it is an unusual situation when a stranger knows more about the location of your nipples than you do! You said to Emerald that you liked pictures of cats, hence I thought I would include a picture of the feline ‘assistance’ I had whilst trying to take the pictures. My cats seem very responsive to the twang of a bodystocking shoulder strap, they always appear to help with the photos! Apologies again.

It is no problem gosig, it happens more than you know. These things happen but thank you for your apology.

I can usually tell when it was an accident and a purpose crotch shot or boob flash haha

Leanne, could I just ask you a question about tester threads being removed after people have been emailed?

I noticed on my profile and on the forum, that some tester threads (that everyone has put their name down for) are completely removed the next day. This is obviously when people have been chosen, as I've read on the sticky thread.

Also, some of the tester review threads still remain, even though you can't strictly access them. For example, I put my name down for something on two tester threads (one was last Friday) and this has completely disappeared, whereas I can still see the previous tester thread still on the forum (that I'd also applied for).

I just wanted to know the reason behind this if that's okay. You know what I'm like, always got a burning question on my mind! - hopefully the last query I have for a while!!!

Hope you are well and I understand you are a busy lady and may not be able to reply immediately. Thanks so much Leanne. x 🌷

Hi Emerald, This is just for my personal access, some that are hidden I can see. No need to worry about them once they are gone, to members, they are either inaccessible or removed totally.

Wow, that was quick! Thanks so much for all your kind help Leanne. ☕ 🐱 💐

Hi Gosig,

This is known and usually occurs on items due to be discontinued.

You should always get an email to let you know once the review has gone live, as long as we have received it. Give it 72 hours and if you do not get an email you can always contact and we can check, as customer care did.

Thanks for posting to let us know.

According to the first post you made on this thread at the bottom of the 'No Thanks' column was 'Why was my thread closed?' Of course LH is in the business of making money from people buying products from them but when someone comments on how they regretted buying something somewhere else (without naming the site) because it stopped working quickly and you remove the thread because somebody started talking about prices elsewhere then why would you not remove the posts, warn the poster and stop further posts if you felt it appropriate?

The decision is made by moderators, I am sorry if you do not agree that it should have been removed.

The rules do state: We will edit or remove content and accounts at our discretion.

The reason why I have added that as a no ask post is because I would be always answering such questions.

Hope that helps clarify a little more.

I've just read this review for the Sqweel Go Rechargeable and I don't think the reviewer fully appreciated how to charge the toy properly.

https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=27037&reviewid=244141#customer_reviews

Out of curiosity is there any way to let them know they may have misunderstood the toy? I've read a few reviews like that and they always make me feel a bit sad.

That one might turn out to be a bad example, but I mean in general. 🙂

Hi Leanne, apologies if this is the wrong section for this question- I have only recently setup my LH account but have bought lots of items previously without an account (although the majority were with the same email) is it possible to have them linked to the account? I have left reviews for the items and would love to do some testers but am aware that it might look like I have left reviews for items i haven't bought on LH.

You are allowed to review products that you haven't purchased through your account. I reviewed a couple of toys I bought from Lovehoney but before I signed up for an account.

Hmm not as such, but... You could always let customer care or myself know ( I will let CC know) and if they feel necessary they will reach out to the customer to advise further on the toy.

This is not standard practice though and if anything big crops up the editors should pick up on it.

In regards to your example, that should have gone to customer care before publishing to help the consumer with this one. I will feedback to the editors.

Thank you.

To have orders linked to your account that is a job for the heroes over on customer care:

https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/help/contact-us/

Get in touch and they will ask some questions to get the ball rolling on linking your past orders up for you.

Hi Leanne, thanks! Will not linking them to my account affect my chances of being picked as a tester?

Having them linked gives me better visibility but not a requirement as such, the upside is you can gain points from orders too.

Okay lovely thanks Leanne

Hi Leanne, just experienced a slight power cut, thought I'd just get this in now in case of another!

I sent a couple of emails to you that you should see Monday morning. I would appreciate if you could send a quick reply to my query in the second one, as it concerns an amendment of a review I have submitted (if my request is indeed possible).

I don't think CC would be able deal with the query in this case, so I've dropped you a line about it via. 'LH Community' instead.

I've already received an email to say it is live.

Hope you get my correspondence and I look forward to a reply from you. Thanks again. x
