Another way to think about it is they are into the same things as you and if you are interested in this person that it makes meets more convenient if he lives local and you happy to be involved with someone who lives close by.
This is always my worry hence not posting photos.
Even if you think you’re a pretty ordinary, unremarkable person there are always giveaways if the right (or wrong) person sees the pics.
@CurvyJilly I was going to ask the exact same question
Now that is funny @CurvyJilly
@Foxylealover I know you cover your tattoos here on this forum, but if this person lives nearby and you have distinctive curtains… two and two can soon be put together x
I’ve had the exact same thing happen too.
One of my customers at work recognised me, didn’t say anything but sent me a private message.
I was on the brink of coming off the site anyways, but this sealed the deal for me unfortunately.
I agree, we think it’s the curtains (which you can see behind @foxylea87 in my profile picture) that have been a bit of a give away. From now on it will only be pics Infront of a white wall.
Yikes! Is there something on the site what shows where you are on the map by chance? Might be how they knew who you were
Not that I know of, there is a “within a mile” type notification though
In my opinion that is way too close, cos those curtains could be owned by anyone in the country, but to have them classed as within a mile narrows it down too much.
That could narrow down the idea of them knowing who you are but then within a mile all round could still mean anyone… maybe ask them how do they know it’s you without confirming to them it is you if makes sense?!
Have you thought about wearing a wig?
Also do you remove any distinctive jewellery?
If you’re talking about Fab you can turn that off. And it only relates to the mobile site, not the desktop.
The ‘white walls’ idea is good though, or just post B&W photos if there’s anything obvious likr the coloured curtains.
Ah, how do you turn it off??
I think @AJSTAR is on to something regarding the location finder? I personally don’t think you could link someone due to curtains. But I could be wrong.
Log onto the mobile site. Then go to ‘Browse & Search’, tap ‘Who’s Mobile Nearby’ and it should show a message as to whether ‘Mobile Who’s Near’ is on or off. Guessing yours is on. Just tap the option to turn it off and then you won’t show in other people’s searches for who is nearby.
You can turn it on and off whenever you like so if you’re away from home and want it on then you can switch it on and it will work via your current location, not your home one.
Perhaps he was looking for tractors and accidentally pulled up a dating site… a mistake anybody could make, Massey Ferguson and Alt are very similar
Thanks, I shouldn’t be allowed near tech, I’m awfully sorry, I hadn’t noticed or thought it may link, apologies
Thank you, I have managed to turn it off now
Not very easy to see the curtains in the small profile pic @Foxylealover , but what I can see, is, as you say, distinctive! x
Thanks for your patience
