Bulking Up (not ya penis)

Am in the process of trying to bulk up not that I'm a small guy but having a few more pounds of muscles doesnt actually hinder ya .. so wondering if the blokes or maybe even the lass's want to put down their hints tips and the like here..

on a side note if you look at all those porn stars they are all toned and muscley maybe thats one way to help ya sex life?

ok my two penny worth:

if you wanna bulk up you need to do heavy weights and small reps

if you wanna tone up less weight higher reps!

Deadlift!

Pack as much weight on the barbell as you can handle. FeET well planted, back straight and look up. Dig your heels into the floor and lift the bar over your head. Hold for a sec or two then lower the same way as it come up. Do as many as you can till you start losing your grip then stop to avoid injury. Do this about 3 times a week as well as your usual routine. This will use all your muscle groups.

Boom! Job's a goodun fella!

the deadlift is my weakest point but yeh i get ya its the best all round exercise!!!

You need protein (something like whey protein) to take after exercise to help keep muscle while burning fat. I know there are specially mixed bulking up formulas available that you may want to look at.

Just not too much creatinine (often found in these body building shakes) if you have any kidney problems. And always keep hydrated (drink plenty of fluids).

i have had and will be taking the USN anabolic stuff all in one its 50grams of protein plus some carbs a bit of creatine (no kidney probs fingers crossed) really works plus lots of chicken

Well according to our lovely GP member here you can have cake, only beefcakes though.

Maybe fishcakes too...

Get a decent amount of aerobic exercise - just walking more will help. Not only will those newly rippling muscles be more more visible and less hidden by fat (assuming you've got a normal amount to start with...) but the boost to your stamina should help with the long, sweaty sex sessions...

which was, after all, the whole point.

I have done bulking diets for rugby. The go in 2 week cycles. First 2 have 4egg omelette and pint of full fat milk for breakfast. Then fir dinner and tea eat large jacket potato or whole chickens. Plenty of rice and more full fat milk. Then in that 2 weeks hit the heavy weights. The next 2 weeks eat normally but just do cardio work. This help burn the excess weight so it's more toned muscle rather than mass. then after that back on the 2 week bulk with heavy weights and then back to normal with cardio. For me I put on 8 lbs in bulking period which became 4-5 pounds in toned weight. After 12 weeks I put a stone on was still very toned without any extra body fat. You have to be DEDICATED though. Eating is the easy part

Green and white tea does seem to be good when training. -Green tea cake is tasty ^o^

I think if you are training a lot, you don't need to cut back on food to lose weight and bulk up. I eat way more than the average person, and often have a large bit of cake a day or chocolate, and I can eat a block of cheese. I tend to train most days, often running, and doing light weights, maybe another sport thrown into the mix, once a week I do a more intense weight workout. I have a low body fat %, even with eating carby and fatty foods. Anyway, your body needs fuel to work out, you just have to work out how much, which depends on your body and how you train.

I'm with S-A. Work out, and then try to get some protein down you. I don't bother with supplements, I'll just go for a nutty cereal with milk. Rest of te time, just watch your fat and salt intake - but that's mainly for health reasons.
