Yes, love that line too @WillC but this bit " And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun" is especially spot on for me as I often feel that when you’re young you think you have so much time ahead of you and before you know it 10 or 20 years have just flown by.

Oh definitely! Time Stand Still by Rush resonates with me in a similar way! I often think of this line when i’m chilling on holiday “I turn my face to the sun
Close my eyes
Let my defenses down
All those wounds
That I can’t get unwound”

  Time Stand Still-Rush

I turn my back to the wind
To catch my breath
Before I start off again
Driven on
Without a moment to spend
To pass an evening
With a drink and a friend

I let my skin get too thin
I’d like to pause,
No matter what I pretend
Like some pilgrim
Who learns to transcend
Learns to live
As if each step was the end

Time stand still
I’m not looking back
But I want to look around me now
Time stands still
See more of the people
And the places that surround me now

Time stands still

Freeze this moment
A little bit longer
Make each sensation
A little bit stronger

Experience slips away
Experience slips away

Time stands still

I turn my face to the sun
Close my eyes
Let my defenses down
All those wounds
That I can’t get unwound

I let my past go too fast
No time to pause
If I could slow it all down
Like some captain
Whose ship runs aground
I can wait until the tide comes around

Time stand still
I’m not looking back
But I want to look around me now
Time stands still
See more of the people
And the places that surround me now

Freeze this moment
A little bit longer
Make each sensation
A little bit stronger

Make each impression
A little bit stronger
Freeze this motion
A little bit longer

The innocence slips away
The innocence slips away

Time stands still
Time stands still

I’m not looking back
But I want to look around me now
See more of the people
And the places that surround me now

Time stands still

Summer’s going fast
Nights growing colder
Children growing up
Old friends growing older

Freeze this moment
A little bit longer
Make each sensation
A little bit stronger

Experience slips away
Experience slips away
The innocence slips away

Sex in the air, I don’t care, I love the smell of it
Sticks and stones may break my bones
But chains and whips excite me

Na na na come on, come on, come on

"Pariah dogs and wandering madmen
Barking at strangers and speaking in tongues
The ebb and flow of tidal fortune
Electrical changes are charging up the young

It’s a far cry from the world we thought we’d inherit
It’s a far cry from the way we thought we’d share it
You can almost feel the current flowing
You can almost see the circuits blowing

One day I feel I’m on top of the world
And the next it’s falling in on me
I can get back on
I can get back on
One day I feel I’m ahead of the wheel
And the next it’s rolling over me
I can get back on
I can get back on"

Hey now, hey now
Don’t dream it’s over
Hey now, hey now
When the world comes in
They come, they come
To build a wall between us
You know they won’t win

And especially when watching Neil Finn’s 7 worlds collide concert recording. The version of that song, particularly the final few bits sends chills.

From the same continent…and quite appropriate during lockdown. Men at Work (although there’s a great acoustic version just by Colin Hay)

I can’t get to sleep
I think about the implications
Of diving in too deep
And possibly the complications

Especially at night
I worry over situations that
I know will be alright
It’s just overkill

Mars Bars by The Undertones, B-side of Jimmy Jimmy the lyrics make me laugh!

I need a Mars Bar
Hey raid the Spa
To help me through the day
I need a Mars Bar
I’ve had total fun
It helps me - makes me - work rest and play
It helps me - makes me - work rest and play

I never eat my dinner
I push away the plate
You can see I’m getting thinner
Because I just can’t wait

To get my Mars Bar
Hey raid the Spar …

To Patrick Moore and David Bowie
And all the other stars
There’s evidence here to show
That there’s life on Mars

I need a …

There’s glucose for energy
Caramel for strength
The chocolate’s only there
To keep it the right length

I need a …

To anybody out there who still eats Twix?
Anybody on packets of Buttons?
I gave them up when I was six
I hope your teeth are rotten

I need a …

Work - rest and play!

"Lullabies, look in your eyes
Run around the same old town
Doesn’t mean that much to me
To mean that much to you

I’ve been first and last
Look at how the time goes past
But I’m all alone at last
Rolling home to you

Old man, take a look at my life, I’m a lot like you
I need someone to love me the whole day through
Ah, one look in my eyes and you can tell that’s true"
