First time toy for my wife

My wife has finally started to come round to the idea of self pleasure. She has always been very shy about doing it, and has never done it before. (Honestly)
The other night I managed to get her to try it, result!! She would like to practice more often. So as a loving husband I would like to help, I'm asking for advice for her first masturbation toy that would allow her to be comfortable, she enjoys clitoral stimulation and is getting used to inserting her fingers. Please can you help a lady enjoy her own body in a way she has never done before?
In advance thank you for your help. X

Hiya, I'd advise the Lelo Mia as the ultimate luxury clitoral toy. It is discreet and non-threatening so perfect as a first time toy.

You can use it for foreplay around the sensual areas as well as for clitoral stimulation. The box and brand oozes luxury and quality as well. =)

Here's the "First Time Toy" buyers guide: http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/sex-toys/buyers-guide/how-to-choose-your-first-sex-toy/

I'd also just recommend the starter pack to get you both started as a couple. It has all the necessities like lube and cleaner- http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=22875

one thing i'd suggest is whatever\ you buy think long and hard before buying anything. cheap doesnt necessarily mean bad in terms of 'performance'....but cheap can often be a bit tacky to look at, last thing you wnat is your wife being put off ////////

as a mid way vibe would suggest this http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=20817

we dont have this exact model but another\ similar that isnt made anymore, the vibrations are solid and can use internally/externally.......not intimidating in any way.

Id get something that looks and feels like something you would mind using, and if its something you can bioth use together then all the more fun to you both! In my experience cock shaped toys in fluorescent colours dont do it..... Taste full but potent is the way! The reviews are a great place to start.

I agree with Nymeria - go for the Mia, it oozes charm and is non-threatening, simple to use. Great advice there hun! :D

Of course if you don't have regular access to a USB port you may have problems, so how about one of these: Rocks Off Bullet Vibrator Ammunition RO-80mm&reviewpage=1 I've never tried it but it has raving reviews! :)

The Fun Factory vibe suggested above is rather hefty, good toy but all around large. I agree with the others about a small bullet - it's a bit less omg WHAT do I do with THAT?

Another possibility is something like Swoon's Cross My Palm. The design of this one is particularly simple and discrete, almost elegant, Someone could come across it and not realize it's a sex toy. The vibrations are concentrated in the tip, but can be felt along its length as well. The material is smooth and lovely to hold and the shape sits in the hand comfortably. (Hmm should turn that into a review, eh? ) Quite quiet too.

It's not going to work as well as a bullet for a wee bit of internal stimulation though and progressing from fingers that way. It is lovely as an accompaniment to fingers or anything else and would work well for a couple.

Doesn't have to be one or the other of course. Maybe something like this and a bullet, see which one she prefers?

That sounds like my wife a few years ago! I suspect that it's not as uncommon a situation as one might imagine.

First of all... well done!

If your wife is still a bit tentative about self-pleasure, then I would avoid products that scream out their intended function or look at all tacky. I'd endorse the suggestions about the Lelo products. They look and feel luxurious (albeit at a correspondingly luxurious price!) and wouldn't look out of place on a mantelpiece. My wife has a Lelo Siri (see my review) as she enjoys clitoral stimulation but finds rabbit vibrators uncomfortable and unsubtle.

I'd also suggest encouraging your wife to explore the options with you to see what she likes. Before we bought the Siri, I showed my wife the Lelo website (which made a good impression straight away as it looks more like the site of an classy cosmetics provider than a sex toy manufacturer) and asked her to say which products she found attractive. Whilst this meant that the purchase wasn't entirely a surprise to my wife, it also avoided the possibility of her feeling under pressure to accept a toy that didn't appeal to her at all. I'm sure that the same approach would be applicable to many other brands.

Good luck!

Just ordered one for my wife.

I bought a first timer friend one of these http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=14042

Non threatening, neat design, easy to use... she loved it and I'm sure your wife would too.

First of all thank you one and all for your help and advice.
I checked out the the products listed, to see what was recommended before showing to my wife. The 'swoon' looked like a good product, but has been discontinued.
I'm going to check out the 'use your first sex toy' page with my wife and see what happens. I do like the idea given by Cuddly Hubby and I'll check out the Lelo site too. Hopefully by her choosing, it will allow her to feel more comfortable with the purchase.
Many Thanks again, and I'll keep you informed.

go for something not too powerful and pretty ^^ that always helps :D
