No, you can't private message members on here. The 'Friends' is left over from the days when there used to be a chat room and you could PM people. This feature was taken away is it become too much of a pain to moderate, and people were abusing it.
It serves no purpose now, but people still add people as friends as a sign of, well, that you consider them your online LH friend! But that's it..
