Funny Television Phrases

I must admit to being one of these people who snigger when someone uses a phrase that can be twisted into something sexual (especially in serious situations).

So when I was watching tv tonight and the commentator on a darts programme said "well that was a turnaround ..... he pulled it out just in time before things got really messy", I was in fits of laughter (immature I know).

Just thought id ask a) if there are any likeminded people (please tell me im not alone!!) and b) what funny blunders have had you laughing your socks off?

yep, love innuendo, both on TV and in real life.

Only one I can think of at the moment, is a famous bit of cricket commentary on the radio.

"The batsman is Holding, the bowler is Willey"

Agreed. It's how i pass the day at work, constantly giggling in my head to the strange things people say. I'll have to try and remember some good ones for you. And that cricket one was a classic TC

Im so glad im not alone yeehhaaaa lol. I often find that the more serious the conversation is the harder it is to stifle the giggles ... the other recent one I had was when a tutor turned round and told me (in front of everyone) he was finding it hard to concentrate on his lecture while I was sitting sucking it in the corner ..... what he meant may I add was that I was sucking a lolly pop ... needless to say I escaped the class to chuckle for a bit x

I don't think i could really concentrate if you were sitting sucking it in the corner!

I'm sure football commentators do it on purpose...they get in all sorts of positions and slip their balls in some very strange places.

But sucking increases my concentration ....... lol

CLM no i find this funny as well and even funnier when im with what i call straight laced people and dont get what im laughing at

My Mum's a great one for saying things that can be interpreted in other ways. It's even funnier as she hasn't a clue about some of the things she's saying!

I know it's not quite the same but she was in a restaurant in Tenerife and the waiter asked her something to which she replied in her broken Spannish, the waiter looked flustered and dashed off. The rest of the table was in fits of giggles and when she asked what she'd said that was so funny she was told she'd said to the waiter "she was hot for it!". She'd tried to ask for a hot tea or something.

From father ted "can I put my big tool in your box"

I am terrible like this, innuendo rocks my world! There is a really hilarious episode of Rainbow, the kids programm(yes...I am that old that I remember it ;))

I have posted the link , hope it works as its hilarious, if it dosnt work, type in Rainbow Kids program the naughty episode or the Lost episode and you should get it

A few years ago i was talking to my elderly neighbour about cooking steak, and she happened to mention that she likes her meat 'long and thin', i had to make my excuses and leave, i thought i was going to burst holding back the laughter.

Mmhmm cookery programs are some of the best for it. Nigella's a bad girl, but not very imaginative. Some of the things the guys come out with are far more coarse...especially when it comes to "keeping their meat nice and moist"

Thats hilarious, good old rainbow!

There always used to be constant ones on children's tv. I know when I watched them again when my eldest was young, I spent most of the time in fits of giggles.

I spend a lot of time at work finding innuendo in almost everything - I have a bit of a reputation for it now

not from TV, but when I was a teenager my Mum used to call our cat 'twit cat' until one day she wanted to abreaviate it and call 'tw...at' at the back door.

(I'm still laughing to this day as I'm typing this)

Also, I always loved the classic by Simon Groome on Blue Peter "Mmm, and what a lovely pair of knockers indeed"
