We’re also considering, for hygiene reasons, wearing gloves when getting it on. Anyone have any suggestions on that?

No need for gloves for regular sex. Like everyone else has said, skin to skin contact is wonderful and you can just wash your hands later if they get sticky.

Most definitely not. I love the skin to skin contact. For Me it makes it more passionate and intimate, feeling gloves instead of him - definitely a mood killer.

As everyone has said skin to skin contact is the best feeling as it’s the connection between the two of you, but gloves is great for the build up adding a bit of teasing/foreplay.

I would never have thought to wear gloves when having sex.
(And this is coming from a straight 33 year old virgin.)
But, maybe other people do.

@Geraint_and_Katie I think gloves are sexy for dressing up, but perhaps you could find some that are machine washable to wear that look good at the same time as hygienic. 
No chance of wearing gloves, wife would think she was having a hospital examination if i did which is never a turn on.
The only time i would consider gloves might be part of role play, maybe some lace ones and use them for sensual touching over his skin.
