Hey

Haha I definitely to do mean the facial kind of cheeks :P And if they were pierced in the wrong place or with a large gauge then I suppose tea might trickle out! I can squirt tea out of my lip piercing (with effort)

So IF I get my cheeks done, I should be able to do a three way squirt (and that is probably the most innocent way that phrase has been used on this forum!!)

David - go grab a cuppa. Tea is for winners.

amandammm - I haven't had them done yet, I'm still thinking about it because it's a bit of a risky piercing, and also they are much more permanent than other piercings. It's a big decision. I don't really know many reputable piercers in Bristol so couldn't recommend, but if I do go ahead I'll probably go to Broad Street Tattoo in Bath :)

LOL Jess I spilt my tea reading that :( damnit this is why my hubby doesn't buy me nice things! *finds tissues to mop tea off keyboard*

The only place I've used is Holey Skin on Gloucester rd, doc croc has done all of my tattoos bar one, and I've had a few piercings done there. I would high recommend them. They do have another parlour on Bath road, I've not been there but they seem just as good.

It's owned by part of the hells angels. There's a place in keynsham that a friend of a friend owns, not sure on the name!!

I looked into a piercing course, they do it in Glastonbury, it's just a shade under £1000 to do it. Think of all the toys I could buy with that!!!

Ah cool - I know there are a few good ones in Bristol, just never checked any out myself. I think I'd be a little worried going somewhere owned by the Hells Angels as their not exactly famed for their body modification skills, but if you find the place to be good you should stick with them! :) To be honest I haven't been pierced in quite some time, spending most of my body modding time on tattoos! I tend to travel to London for the vast majority of my mods nowadays.

I wouldn't recommend doing a piercing course. They are overpriced, brief and not many piercers would employ you - not a decent one anyway. It's much better to go down the apprenticeship route if you want to learn to pierce - that's what I did and it's much more thorough and rewarding.

What are you thinking about getting re-pierced?

:P Soz! See, and that's without cheek piercings!!

Oh cool - so like snakebites? I would definitely recommend having them pierced with a bar to start with (even though BB will probably tell you otherwise - I worked at the Swindon store VERY briefly). A bar will heal quicker and straighter and you can wear a ring once it's healed.

Blue Banana can do a good piercing (depending on the piercer) but they are a perfect example of a place which send the piercer on a 2 week piercing course and expect you to understand the full anatomy of the body - which, in my opinion, is rediculous. The reason they are cheap is because you don't get the years of experience you do at a longstanding studio when you go to them. They are primarily a clothing store with a piercing room. You get what you pay for in all areas of life so would definitely bare that in mind.

If you decide to go there, don't use the tea tree stuff they give you. It's way too strong and you should only use saline on your piercings to clean them.

I don't want to put you off or come across as a 'know-it-all' but I'd rather you have all the information before you go ahead, rather than ending up wishing someone had told you before.

As for piercing yourself with a kit off the internet, I cannot stress how much of a bad idea that is. Unless of course you have an autoclave and fully sterilised room at home as well as a full understanding of the nerves, veins and salivary glands which line your mouth. Piercing in the wrong place can partially paralize the lip, bleed extensively (at the time of piercing or sometimes years after the piercing has been done from poor placement) and can cause permanent dribbling through the hole if you hit a salivary gland. I wouldn't advise this under any circumstances!

Snake bites, that's it!! My memory is fading!

I think it's best to spend the extra few quid and get it done in a proper place anyway. I had a clitoral peircing done in a waxing parlour, that was a bad idea!! Lol! I should've learned my lesson then!

It won't be for a while yet, maybe a birthday treat for myself!

OMG I didn't even know that waxing parlours did such things!! lol. Did it heal ok in the end?

Yeah, snakebites are lush! I thought about having them myself before I had my labret done.

And birthday's are a great excuse for a new hole - let us know when you get it done! I'll make sure I post if I pluck up the courage to get my cheeks done.... it's a big IF though!
