Our friend is building a new house and offered us first grabs. 750,000 for a 1mil house. It's an old barn, enormous, exposed oak beams, massive garden, in the middle of no where. It's practically our dream house. And I was really excited about it. HOWEVER it backs onto farm land where they shoot pheasants. I really don't think I can live with that. I am really sensitive to animals and I think it would destroy me. I know it's possible to buy the sporting rights on land so only you can kill animals on the land but you don't actually own the land.
Does anyone have any experience living by hunts, is it at all tolerable? And does anyone have experience with buying or selling sporting rights? What would the typical cost be?
I really don't know what to do, I want the house but I don't hunting practically in my back garden.
But with the type of house we want, we're always going to be farmland, will there be hunting everywhere? Will I just have to accept it?
