Hi, I’m in a new healthy relationship but it’s a distant relationship. I’m interested in introducing lingerie to the bedroom but don’t know how.
Helloooo…
Lingere for you or your oh??? Why not purchase a nice surprise for your oh and ask them to wear it
As per my last reply to a different post, I could be wrong but…
Your profile lists you as a woman, I assume in a relationship with a man?? From a blokes point of view, just go for it! He’ll think all his Christmas’s have come at once!
I agree with @Hornyhubby27 just go for it with some LH lingerie Your man will be over joyed.
Slightly different approach…..
Maybe wear some as functional underwear, for a date night or whatever, then just leave it on.
If it’s not his thing or he’s not comfortable with the idea (very unlikely….the very point of lingerie is to make a woman appealing) you’ve got plausible deniability…..”But it’s just what I had on this evening?”.
I’d also suggest starting with something quite plain and classic in a solid base colour so black, white or pastel. NOT red….its such a cliche.
Avoid the more extreme stuff (leather, PVC, chains or whatever) at first. Less is more.
It has to be something YOU like too; something you feel confident and sexy wearing, and not self-conscious, otherwise that’ll get in the way of anything.
Good luck and have fun….choosing, wearing and then seeing the results!
Hey @NewMe and welcome to the forum ![]()
I think from a women’s stand point, it’s much easier introducing lingerie into a relationship than say vice versa. I started with small items and integrated them under nightwear. I then swapped a normal nightie for a babydoll. I’d always recommend taking your time. We did have a few conversations about it over time.
This is just my opinion; but I don’t think you’ll find many men who would be against a cute piece of lingerie ![]()
If it is for your OH the issue might be sizing, so go for a piece that is one size fits many, soft form like a body suit or teddy and see how it lands.
I speak from experience when I say there is nothing more disappointing for a partner than to be sent lingerie in the incorrect size.
With me I always wore sexy lingerie like teddies with suspenders and stockings when we were courting so boyfriend now hubby was used to it and things just progressed from there. Now I have a vast array of lingerie.
Hello and welcome @NewMe,
Assuming you mean lingerie for yourself, not for your partner, why do you feel like you need your partner’s permission to wear lingerie? Wear it for you because it makes you feel good, not for anyone else. If they don’t appreciate it (unlikely), that’s their problem, not yours ![]()
Best of luck to you.
I’m with marbles1. Introduce lingerie to everyday wear. It’s even sexier when worn as a regular item than just for fun in the bedroom.
No need to go super way out there. Something see through or stockings and suspenders are great starting points and guaranteed to be received well.
The simple and classic would work for me. Just wear a dressing gown with the lingerie underneath, and at the perfect moment, flash your partner and give him a winning smile. He’ll think its his birthday.
Maybe tease it in with sending some sexy suggestive photos that give a little but leaves plenty to imagination!
Your profile says that you’re a woman, so I am going to assume that you’re thinking of wearing it yourself, for your partner who I am going to assume is male. Sorry if any of the assumptions are wrong..
Don’t overthink this, just buy some and wear it for him. He will love it. Even if the exact style of the lingerie isn’t what he’d pick first time round it doesn’t matter ( you can refine your choice in future if you like) , the major turn on is the woman making the effort.
Most men are so used to being the ones putting in the work, doing the chasing, making the suggestions etc, that any woman who just takes the initiative in ANY way whatsoever, immediately becomes basically the best partner ever.
A woman who thinks to dress up for her man, buys a toy or two, or simply just initiates sex full stop is a rarity unfortunately, and someone to be treasured. Trust me, as a man there is no situation whatsoever that my other half showing up in lingerie and tell me to f**k her silly is anything other than the best day of my life!
Stop overthinking it. Go and buy something slutty, go visit him, put it on and bang his brains out (in the good way, not the cricket bat way obviously).
Hello, my first thought would be to ask him? It’s easy to assume all guys like the same thing, but it seems not so!
For example, i’ve always liked fire engine red style sexy lingerie and skimpy underwear and kind of wear it daily. When I was dating my ex years ago, i’d turn up with it on and he’d look a bit embarrassed and awkward. It turned out he liked me to wear squeaky clean pack fresh cotton knickers. How boring! But that just shows how everyone is different, so I’d get his feedback.
Usually with guys as well they will drop hints what they like and what they want us to wear. Well they did with me all the time anyway, I felt more like a bloomin’ doll. But that will give some clues too x
I disagree with this. Buy something which is “you”. Something slutty could send entirely the wrong message, not just about lingerie and where it sits in the relationship, but also about you and how you think he sees you.
Like anything new with a relationship, just keep it simple at first. A classic black set with plain black stockings, or a simple babydoll in a pastel tone is more than enough as an introduction. A slutty look is almost role-play so you need to save that for the right time.
Another option to introduce the idea is to go shopping with him and “accidentally” end up in a lingerie store, say you might get some and ask what he thinks would look good on you. Granted this may not work at all as a lot of men would rather eat their own foot than be seen anywhere near racks of knickers with their partner but if he’s game it means he’s subconsciously letting you know what he likes.
Perhaps I was just projecting my own preferences, anyway it was just a clumsy turn of phrase.
It was said tongue in cheek and I didn’t literally mean to tell her what to buy, and you should also refrain. It’s up to her judgement based on herself and her knowledge of her partner.
Apologies if I rubbed anyone the wrong way, although I feel it’s a bit of a nit pick on your part if I am honest.
I didn’t take any offense to it. Thought it was quite sweet feedback to be honest! ![]()
Everyone is different.
From my seat, I simply feel that “slutty” crosses something of a line.
Recommending something equally generic but described as simple and classic isn’t, I’d like to suggest, in quite the same category, or at least I don’t think so. Others may think differently which is great.
Each to their own. Carry on…..
