Kegels

Hi All! Im 40 this year. Ive had 2 kids and Ive never looked after my pelvic floor. I can tell because i have to cross my legs if i cough, sneeze or laugh too hard :woman_facepalming:
So my question is, do the kegel balls really work? Is it worth buying them? Ive started doing my pelvic floors but its really hard so any help would be welcomed. Also, which ones do i choose. Would a set that you gradually work through be best and if so, when do you know to change to the next one? I feel truly lost as theres so many to choose from

That’s a great question @Kh1985 I am sure there will be many people who are interested to know more about this.

For me personally kegels didn’t really help. I bought the LH

I’ve noticed improvement after daily use over the last few weeks.

Sorry I can’t seem to give a proper link to the product.

Hey @Kh1985, ah to be 40!,

My wife was similar to you, and like others we can recommend using a “trainer” instead of kegels.

Don’t get me wrong, im sure if you’re in the right mindset and are motivated they’ll probably work well - however my OH ended up using the Perifit one - https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/sex-toys/love-eggs-jiggle-balls/kegel-exercisers/p/perifit-care-pelvic-floor-exerciser-with-app-program/a49390g87400.html

This was good as it “gamifies” the exercise (you play games on you’re phone controlling the character with your squeezes) - however like all these things its not cheap (although with a voucher code it can be cost effective).

If you look here there a load of them https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/sex-toys/love-eggs-jiggle-balls/kegel-exercisers/

Like @ApolloSwallow said - the one she has is electostimulating (like the old abfit belts) - so contracts them using electricity), but these didn’t exist when we were looking - so it depends on you really.

Good luck…im sure you’ll get there!

Thankyou. Love the thought of using my pelvic muscle to game! I will look further into this one i think

Go for it.

I’ve just submitted my review as had been waiting to see if it really worked. It has so far so hopefully the progress will continue.

No worries - Perfit have tow different “shapes” - the newer one is more like an we-vibe love egg, whereas the one we have (the one I linked) is more “functional” - so have a look at both…im suer they both use the same app…so games will be the same!

I’ve personally never used one but the reviews for This exerciser are all positive, it’s also got some apps that come with it- could be fun

There’s also a few exercises and stretches you can do without a machine. I often try and do a couple after a gym session, has great benefits and is actually quite relaxing (:

I have the latest, more “love egg like” Perifit

I have tried various kegel balls over the years and they do work… if you keep at them on a regular basis.

The app controlled ones make it a bit more fun.

@Kh1985 they are fun and it is said they can help with those muscles but I don’t think they can turn back time - I’m the same a little leaky when heavy sneezing or laughing
