This is a really nice idea but unfortunately it has too much potential for causing arguments and hurt in leaving people out. That's the reason the original thread was removed. We are a community and we don't feel that singling people out in this way is within that community spirit, even if it is for praise.
As I said, it's a lovely idea, but it feels too much like making the forum into a contest and we want to avoid that. If you want to show your appreciation for someone you can always thank them after they offer you some advice, there are often comments like "Brilliant advice as always! Thank you so much!" around the forum and we love the positive atmosphere that comes with that sort of thing.
