Male waxing.

Always fancied and possibly in a moment of madness I have booked myself in to what is termed an intimate wax.

So buttocks, crack, sac, penis and possibly pubic triangle.

Having tried to wax the areas I can reach on my own I know that it can make you squeak a little bit. Maybe because it is the home hot wax stuff.

Has anybody gone to a 'specialist' and is it the same amount of pain?

I am guessing that some of the positions required to reach the areas aren't the most diginified, and then apparently there are other problems where I may get overexcited!!

Am I totally mad?

Not mad at all...brave yes. I have also been debating weather to get an intimate wax, but I’ve been worried about all that you mention. When are you going? Would be great to hear your feed back on it. Good luck 👍

I have a week to wait and ponder what is going to happen.

Look into home sugar waxing . Of course you need a willing assistant . Getting the mixture right takes some practice and also the temp . We use cotton fabric strips . We tried the strips you can buy and did not like them at all . Youtube has several videos of how to . For myself , I have found that 119-120F is the target temp . But do I like being smooth , I feel much sexier and my wife enjoys it also .

Today was the day!

Quite an odd experience thinking about it.

Considering I have great difficulty talking to anybody that I don't know, I was quite happy to take my clothes off in front of someone I have never met before. Usually you get undressed for things and they come back into the room, but they are going to see and touch everything so it doesn't make much difference.

So the waxing, hot wax and strips for the easier to reach areas and 'cold' wax for everywhere else. Goes on hot, sets fairly quickly and has to be lifted at the edge before removal.

It stings rather than hurts. Certainly not to the level when I was trying myself, but it is probably down to speed and angles. The repeat of the strips is the most 'stingy' due to it pulling at skin. The cold wax is a one off pull.

End result is a smooth body, but you do get a few minor bruises and sensitivity.

Is it worth it? Oh yes!

@The Woodie. Thanks for sharing. Glad you thought it was worth it. My local place that does Male intimate waxing seems to get really good reviews. After what you have said I’m really tempted to give it a go. It does say on the what to expect page that temporary arousal may happen. That is putting me off a bit.

I'd also like to hear the overexcited/temporary arousal thing, did it happen to you?

I like a bit of pain mixed with sexy time so it is a worry.

The unintentional arousal did concern me when I was booking it, and when I was there two thirds naked with someone handling my genitals.

Having the wax applied and the hair pulled out soon put a stop to it. There was a bit of fluid leakage towards the end but not enough to worry about and it wasn't mentioned.

I think I was more interested in what was going on and preparing for when hair was going to be removed to think about anything that would make me aroused. Now I know what happens it may be more of a concern the next time.

It said on the blurb that it is something that can happen and they are used to it. I think it comes down to not drawing attention to it and keeping it out of the way!!

Hmm, interesting it didn't hurt too much. I bought an epilator with the idea of doing my pubic region, but that's not happening lol. I even tried it in a hot shower as it's supposed to soften the hair and make it less painful, but it was still too much for me to handle. I have had shingles and a tailbone cyst, so I'm no stranger to pain, but they are nothing compared to the epilator.

Epilators hurt like hell compared to waxing. WIth a single pull of a sugar strip or wax strip I can pull hundreds or even thousand of hairs in a half second. That stings pretty bad for 20-30 seconds afterward and will be tender for a little while after. Now if I instead pulled those same hairs like 30 or 40 at a time, it would still hurt as bad but spreads that pain out over a lot longer period of time.

I do all my partners waxing. For arms I use the disposable wax strips just because they are quick and easy and no mess. For intimate areas, we started using warm stripless wax (its worth finding a good quality wax, high end waxes dont have to get too hot and set quickly to minimise discomfort from heat.). Warm wax does not stick to the skin but it still causes some minor skin damage to the most tender bits. After trying sugaring, we have not gone back, it is much better, hurts her less, and leaves the skin in much better condition, no bleeding pores and less break offs. If I was choosing to go to a professional to get this done, I would look for someone experiences with sugaring.

Now personally, I use a depilatory cream that is mixed from a powder. It gives me results just as good as waxing, albeit for a slightly shorter time, but then its easy to reapply. There is still some discomfort for a few hours after application as the skin is pretty sensitive, but as long as you are very careful about timings and coverage it can be done without hurting yourself.
