Moisturising intimate areas?

Does anyone here (male or female) use any mositerusers on intimate areas? Any results from it? From what I have seen mentioned many time elsewhere, its not recommended to moisturise internal intimate areas, especially if you are female due to the risk of upsetting pH balances etc. Tried a product/yoghurt from a well known Brighton based ethical high street retailer, couldn't find any suitable product here. Used on external areas (balls, penis (uncircumcised) and bum/crack) and it feels great. Does anyone use anything (not toys) to make the feel-good parts feel, well, even better?

(female) The only thing I use on my intimate area is water based lube when I masturbate with toys. I don't really have a problem with that area getting dry or sore anymore after coming off hormonal birth control.

I use a water based lube with toys for solo play like HM29 but don't need any lube with a partner.

As with others I only use lube when I masturbate with toys.

Just to add, I use proper lovehoney lube when at play either on my own or with the wife. I only use a moisturiser after a hot bath or shower to keep things extra soft and feeling nice

We use water based lube for general use and fisting, and I use a hybrid one sometimes for my huge anal butt plugs(Looks and feels very like Vaseline) but needs time to warm up.

I don't think the OP is talking about lube. They're specifically asking if anyone has a moisturising routine for their intimate areas, not what products people use during sex.

I don't have a skincare routine at all, let alone on my cock and balls. 🙂 Though on the rare occasions I shave (anywhere) I like a bit of E45 to take the edge off. 👍

I have sensitive skin, so E45 is a raging inferno in a bottle. If I put it anywhere near my skin, it feels like it is burning off. I wouldn't put it anywhere, especially intimate areas. (The hydrocortisone they make HC45 is exactly the same - no idea what they put in it as other hydrocortisone is fine).

I use a natural moisturiser produce from a little producer in Penzance (well, actually it is their aftersun product, but it works really well as a moisturiser too). I send for it mail order. It isn't cheap, but you can use it pretty much anywhere.

I never knew that about E45 (or that they even made a HC45). I think I automatically assumed it was fine for everyone. I'm trying to think if using it on the kids ever made anything worse? I'll certainly bear that in mind for the future. I've used the Lush Dream Cream on my kid's cheeks when they were little as they got a rough patch (I think from cold weather and dry central heating), but we use the Children's Farm stuff now (for the kids and Mrs Chimp) and that seems to work a treat. Mrs Chimp has patches of dry skin, and is more susceptible to dry hands, etc and she says the Child's Farm moisturiser with the duck on is good.

I know E45 is good for a lot of people, but I also know I'm not alone in having such issues.

I love the Child's Farm stuff - only just found it, but their unscented shampoo is great. Will try their moisturiser next, as the stuff I currently use is rather expensive.

Mrs Chimp uses the Child's Farm sweet orange hair and body wash too, though uses my Sanex shower gel if she feels she needs something a little more robust. We also use the Dove sensitive micellar 'beauty cream bar' (soap) for washing the kid's hands as the Carex stuff was a bit too harsh for them (turns out we do a lot more skincare than I thought 🙂). Obviously none of this is strictly intimate area skincare, but it may give people a few ideas. 👍🙂

There are special moisturisers available from pharmacy`s for women of a certain age if that`s what you mean?

Generally speaking, intimate areas are self regulating and shouldn’t need extra moisturisers etc beyond very gentle cleansers used externally. The natural balance can be easily upset and many products are just marketing hype and not necessary.

However, there is a product called Replens which is available on prescription or in pharmacies if hormonally related vaginal dryness is a problem. I use that along with Vagifem (estrogen suppositories). Both are body-friendly.

Otherwise, lubes and massage oils intended for external use should be ok if they suit your skin?

We don't moisturise as such but I often use the LH release cream when having a little play with Mr. Its go some added extra loveliness that also moisturises. At least he always says he feels nice and smooth after!

It's a MLM product so some people might not be a fan, but we really love Tropic products for the kiddies. They are all naturally made and full of good stuff!

I wouldn’t use it up close and personal, but I have a signature scent / body lotion and a touch of that on my inner thigh can add to the occasion and feels like a treat.

We go for natural products so really anything that has Aloe Vera .

I will sometimes use baby oil on my balls after I shave them, really softens the skin, but i don't do it every time I shave, maybe a few times a month.

Love the Sliquid lubes because they have an aloe vera base.

Also - a tip here for anyone interested - the Sliquid toy cleaner is a great body cleanser for all external areas, even intimate ones. I've checked this out with Customer Services. It is a great deodorant, hair conditioner, soap substitute etc... underrated, and should be marketed as more than a toy cleaner imo (although that might double the price). Google the ingrdients and see what you think.

I have sensitive skin and find that some shower gels etc can actually increase odours by the end of the day. Not the case with the Sliquid cleanser - or even just a face cloth and hot water.

Generally I find any area is better with just a warm flannel and a tub of Shea Butter for smoothness and moisturisation. Simple and cheap, safe to use intimately.

That's good to know! I've always eyed this up but never purchased it as didn't really see the appeal. However this may just sway me... thank you!
