I love both for different reasons. Something about waking up to the fresh day, brushing teeth together, then climbing back under the covers for what is usually a slower and softer session just starts the day off so well. And when we can fit it in, we almost always still have the urge for our regular at bedtime.
But in the afternoon is when we usually settle in for an extended play: lingerie, roleplay, bondage, the full works. We’re energized from the day but not worn out yet. Or else it’s a workday quicky, in which case it’s fast and furious and we go back to finish our tasks wearing the taste, smell, and other evidence of our time together. Best of both worlds is a weekend afternoon romp before going out for evening plans - date night, or a family dinner - again with the drips and aches and tastes and smells of what we’ve been up to.
These days our kids are simultaneously too old and too young to be predictable about our safety for morning sex - they might burst in for morning snuggles with mom and dad, or wake and need attention before we’re ready for the day. Neither is optimal. They are however old enough that we can send them off to play with the neighbors or settle in for a movie while we sneak to the bedroom for an extended play.
Of course when we were on our last vacation just the two of us we were like hobbits in our sexual appetite: there was the breakfast sex, the second breakfast, elevensies, lunch, tea, dinner, supper, and bedtime snack…
We used to go for morning and evening. Then post kids it became late at night, or occasionally a sneaky afternoon shag if we were both working from home
Love afternoon sex but rarely get any as I’m normally at work weekends morning sex is what we normally get and on the occasions when our daughter is out hard loud sex up or down

Either morning or evenings for us. We are early risers and work from home. Weekends we are also up early for a run/walk or row and have sex quite often after shower. Make love a lot before bed as well. Me personally am the horniest in the morning and exercising seems to make me horny as well.
I love sleepy sex, so I’d choose mornings for that warm cozy snuggle sex where we are both super drowsy. Morning breath bit of a turn off though so usually no kissing haha
