Never bought a sex toy..

What would you recommend for a first time toy? Both male and female. Together or separately

A bullet vibrator and some lube is a good starting point for clitoral stimulation, and they're small enough to use during PIV sex too. πŸ‘ You can also use them on a penis/perineum/nipples/anywhere you like really. Just don't pop them up your bum as you might lose them. πŸ™‚

Depends on your budget.

A wand vibrator can be used on male and female genetalia and you can also get extra attatchments for either of you.

I agree with GoGirl12. If you are able to, buy a kit with a selection of toys so you can experiment with different things to see what might work for you.

As IanChimp says, don’t forget the lube as it can make inserting any toys much easier but also just adds a different sensation to using toys. I’d suggest buying a plain, water based lube like this one https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=31583

The starter kits are a great idea to test the waters and see what sticks out. Personally I second Ian Chimps, bullet vibrator. They are great on anything that enjoys stimulation, most are marketed as clit stimulation but as a trans girl with a penis I can tell you it works on penis's too. Also great on nipples as well! Just do not insert it anywhere exterenal use only!

I'd also suggest a massage oil candle, great for couples play and can be used for a more sensual solo experience.

Both simple but nice easy intro's, the only other thing I'd consider if a masterbator sleeve that could be used on a penis. He could use that while you use the bullet.

A bullet and a sleeve are excellent ideas. Put a lube in your basket at the same time - lube always makes everything feel more intense.

Both can be used with other toys (cock rings, inside a dildo) later on when you enivitably expand your collection.

Beware! Shopping at Lovehoney is thoroughly addictive. I went from starting off with toys at the cheaper end of the scale but soon progressed to mid-price (you can't go wrong with Mantric or Desire toys), then up to the expensive but delicious toys.

Then there's the lingerie... I could go on and on but the fun is in the discovery.

I think this all depends on what you are looking for and what your budget is? My girlfriend started experimenting with a bullet before buying bigger and better toys as it’s a good introduction without being overwhelming. This gave her good vibrations and finding where felt good before building up. A rabbit is probably next for cliteral stimulation and insertion. For guys my 1st toy was a Fleshlight I loved it. Fleshlights are not always cheap to experiment with so maybe a stroker or tenga egg as a cheaper option to try out also good toys a partner can help you with

Whatever area you decide to buy a toy in, I would buy quality. Buying cheap toys will only end up costing you more in the long run (usually). If you are going to buy a vibrator, buy something nice like the Lelo Soraya 2. If you are going to buy a prostate toy, buy something like the Nexus Revo 2. These better brands offer products that will last longer and you won't have to replace.

Whatever you buy, make sure you buy some quality toy cleaner! My wife has bought the LH Fresh toy cleaner and we really like it!

I'm not sure I'd dive in with the most expensive right off the bat. We've bought a few mid-range toys that have been excellent, and Mrs Chimp prefers those to some of the expensive toys we've bought (normally when they've popped up on offer πŸ™‚). And buying some cheaper toys of different shapes can help you explore what you may or may not like before investing in something special. πŸ‘

I'd echo others and suggest a bullet - ideally, to start with, the Mantric one. It is affordable, rechargeable and has a good vibe without being too strong or too buzzy, and can be used on either partner. Lovehoney also make inexpensive battery bullets which are pretty good. Lube too - I like the Sliquid gel.

Someone suggested the Lelo Soraya 2: they are about Β£200. Not for beginners, in my view. Buy a few cheaper items first to find out what you like.

Bullets are more for pinpointed pleasure. Wands have lots of fans too - men and women - they are just not for me. But if you'd like to experiment with more broad-based pleasure, then these are a couple of options:

God luck! Let us know how you get on. Or off. ;-)

P.S. I would also add, don't be tempted around all the hype with rabbits. If you find one which works for you then great, but that's down to luck as women's anatomy varies and not every rabbit will suit every woman. A clit vibe and a separate vibrator / g-spot vibe / dildo might have a better effect. A glass dildo which is straight like a rolling pin makes for a great massage for either partner.
