I would think it is better to keep your living arrangements separate. So there are no blurring of lines. For instance if she was living in your basement she could just keep interrupting yours and you wifes alone time and i agree with @CurvyJilly she could claim that she is entitled to part of the estate if anything were to happen to you or your wife or both of you. Not sure if you have kids but it is something to think about.
