Yeah i sometimes talk sense to them too, depending on how mischievous I feel!

The problem with FB is that it’s chock a block full of people whinging about daft things like councils not cutting the grass verge outside their house or asking dopey questions that they could easily find the answer too if they tried! I do admit it can be quite entertaining watching an argument unfold with all the tit for tat posts! 
I mainly use FB to keep up to date on local issues.

Me too, and to follow bands and other interests etc. I am on a couple of local-ish sites for traffic info etc for my work journey. The local one’s can be irritating and hilarious. Far too many amateur “Aestheticians” offering lip fillers and eyebrow “enhancement” for my liking! Also the “Karen’s” whinging about anything and everything!
“To the Audi driver who cut me up earlier, I hope you burn in hell” etc!

Oh there’s plenty of people there who need to chill a bit! And the ads are awful, I often hit the hide this ad button but it’s relentless at times especially with the upsetting animal cruelty ones.

Yeah i had a work colleague friend who kept sharing Chinese dog meat market stuff, and i had to delete her, I know it happens and I detest it, but I didn’t need to be constantly having it thrust in my face. I did initially use the 30 day hide function, but 30 days soon passed and out of the blue i had more of it.

All for the likes and attention. I feel for my age group I’m the only one that doesn’t like Facebook and never chat there. I scroll through Facebook but it has to be at least two years now, that I actually commented on a post or given a reaction to anything on there.

to be honest that used to really twist my melon too until someone complained about it on a science thread I was following and I realised, sometimes, its not about the answer so much as it is about starting a conversation. Sometimes its just nice to talk to someone about an interest you might both have in common.

I’ll sometimes be a Karen and report annoying adds for made up violations. Especially on X and FB where there’s so many that are obvious but unprovable scams. But Youtube’s the worst.

Yes YT is pretty bad for that stuff. I sometimes click ’ not interested’ and then there’s inevitable ‘tell us why’ , which frankly I can’t be arsed with! I just want to get on with what I want to watch.
I wonder if FB or YT actually do anything when someone makes a complaint.

Regarding Karen’s… the owner of the establishment took her Facebook rant despite being reimbursed and still getting the food in good humour and made a joke about it. She then accused him of milking it! It appears “Karen’s” don’t do irony!

With all the windows being open I’m getting eaten alive by bugs. What the hell would they be eating if the windows weren’t open?
You need to get yourself a bug zapper. We have a big one in the kitchen (like they have in butchers) and it works really well.

People several doors away are having some work done at the front of their house. Obviously that involves some level of noise, that can’t be helped but what is more annoying is the workmen have their van radio absolutely blaring out! So in between bouts of loud drilling etc we’re all treated to local radio blasting out a load of crummy rubbish at full volume plus all the adverts that go with it! 
I mean, for gods sake, it’s a residential area and everyone’s got doors and windows wide open due to high temperatures

I feel your pain! Summer can be a bitch when neighbours inflict their crappy musical taste on the neighbourhood! It’s why I use my earbuds in the garden, as even though I have excellent taste in music (
) I don’t want to disturb neighbours who prefer peace and quiet, or night workers who may be sleeping. The worst recently was a neighbour’s teenage daughter who lives at the back of us, blasting awful samey thuddy RnB from her wide open bedroom while they were at work. I shouted ‘Oi turn it down’ and she set it to a reasonable volume. I have recently seen a lot of inquiries on social media about inflatable screens and projectors to watch the England match in their gardens, my first thought was ‘why would you inflict all that on the neighbours’ watch it on tv indoors!

I use earbuds a lot too because I appreciate that not everyone like or wants to hear my music.
Yikes inflatable screens, in a garden? I havent heard about this but we did once live next door to a family that regularly took their TV out into garden in the summer! It was hell on earth having to put up with all the trashy programmes they watched blaring out until gone 11 pm and my kids not being able to sleep! Mind you they made as much racket indoors too but that’s another story

Yeah there’s a lot of selfishness around nowadays, all me, me me and no consideration for others. Obviously I do play my music indoors at volume with my hi-fi but only during the day when next door are at work. The DAB radio in the kitchen or bedroom is at a sensible volume too!
