I understand your husbands aversion, I didn’t care much for the book either. I think there’s something just a little too sleek and ‘Hollywood’ about them for me.

There was a TV Show or film called The Red Shoes Diary. I remember a younger me catching some of it late one night and being surprised by it. I think David Duchovny was in it?

Only saw that (RSD) in hotel rooms in the US back in the 1990s. Just seemed like soft porn with the censor’s requirement to not show any ‘bits’. Was almost worse than the mainstream cable channel where any bits of a film showing breasts were edited out. Surely the best bit of ‘Trading Places’ is the topless moment?
The film Palm swings I think it’s called is quite watchable and funny in places.
We recently marathoned the Fifty Shades set after not seeing them before; you have to own the cringe as part of the experience. We heckled our way through and mostly commented on “that looks fun” or “that’s ridiculous” or "how has it only been 3 weeks since the first movie started and now we’re here?
