Me and my GF have been talking about starting role play for a little while now. We've dabbled a little bit in the past but it always seemed a little awkward or we would burst out laughing at some point.
We'd like to incorporate our ever growing drawer of bondage toys, what could we do? And how did you start?
TBH if just starting out on roleplay IMO bondage stuff isn't that easy to introduce into role play situations. If you tthink about it there isn't that many situations that involve tieing up . There is kidnap and intruder situation roleplays but I don't recommend these type for beginners and often lead to rougher style sex which really can be playing with fire unless you are in a long standing relationship and know your boundaries well . Thats just my view.
If amongst your collection of bondage stuff you have a pair of handcuffs then you could opt for things like being arrested for speeding, narcotics ( plant some talcom powder in foil on your partner) .
One of you could also be handcuffed to a chair whilst the other does a strip tease dance.
If you havn't already got a dom and submissive relationship then as a roleplay one of you could be the dom(inatrix) and the other the sub and follow all the commands.
I wouldn't woory to much about laughing at each other thats all part of the fun making sex in the bedroom fun instead of being serious . Whats not to like about that?

Another idea that I have thought of and the real reason I happen to be on here , is looking for a sexy Firemans outfit as I know my OH luvs firemen. Not many women don't, I think ?
Anyway as they don't have any and the ones from the Fancy dress are rather naff and un sexy. I was thinking of cobbling one together. A pair of black trousers or jeans ,optional boots , a building site visivest and a toy firemans hat to finnish. As I have lost a lot of weight particularly around the tum area , I have probably got the confidence to wear an ouitfit like this now.
This would be a straight forward role play whereby your rescue you OH just wearing a nightie to safety by lifting them from say the downstairs couch to the bed.
This is a straight foward beginners type,nonethreatening type role play and you can leave the bondage items in the box just for once. If you succeed in getting her to safety you can then claim your rewrard . 
We started with me dressed as a escort and knocking the front door and pretending Hubby had paid for me and we screwed on the lounge floor within 5 minutes of me arriving!
While I wouldn't say I'm the most experienced in roleplaying I have done it in the past. You need to just go with it. Have your roles and don't jump into it straight away. Plan it a few hours in advanced or a few days.
Are you strangers at a bar or something like this? If you are make sure you take things as seriously as you would if it were a real situation. There might still be that giggling or awkwardness but if you're both into the idea of the situation, regardless of what that may be, then you will find the motions pretty natural pretty quickly.
Most important thing is to have fun with it!

i sort of know where your coming from - OH is very self conscious as it is. she's mentioend about dressing up before but never uttered another word........she knows i've ordered some sexy undies n bra which i hope she takes to, toys no problem so this is the next step.
but she did surprise me by buying a nice chemise at my least fav clothes shop so we shall see.
as for roll play i'm not sure ...........................it's prob one thing i'd feel awkward with - hell i struggled to do drama lessons at school and used to bunk.
Don't ever be too worried about laughing. Sex is supposed to be fun, and role play even more so! Although you know it's gone too far when your mrs' love for dinosaurs comes into it. Next thing you know there's velociraptor claws and masks and all sorts happening. Be careful if you want to head down this road.
Love this reply.....I'm quite a big Jurassic Park fan myself but never thought about incorporating it into the bedroom....just out of curiosity where did you buy the claws ha ha ha! ;-) I totally agree with the comments about it being fun & laughing being part of it..... I love role play & with ex partners it's always caused a few laughs....in my experience the only roleplay that didn't involve a giggle was a dom/sub role which my dom took very seriously, it was an experience & a huge turn on but he was used to it & there was no messing about! Is she a Dr who fan if she is dress up as her favorite doctor and seduce her, I'd love Huby to do this but sex is off limits now due to health reasons, his not mine
