That’s what I use to motivate myself to switch as loyalty is no longer a driver in the utilities market.
Well if we saved £15 a month that would pay the house insurance, think that was around £170 last year.
It’s just the thought of someone coming and digging the garden up to lay the Virgin cable or a poorly installed fibre is uneccesary when we don’t need a faster speed, just a lower price.
Really dislike tradesman and their shoddiness. Hence why half the house is falling down.

That’s why I’m employed at a premium if I don’t do the work to your standard and my own which I like to think is pretty high up there I don’t get paid @Simon_101 .
And there are plenty of deals on the infrastructure you have. You just don’t get all the benefits.

Don’t know about starlink, but have you tried using a vpn for mobile?
I use a vpn for reddit but its very slow. Even mobile data is a bit hit and miss where I am.
Sorry for the late reply but I wanted to offer some input on the full cost in the UK @Simon_101. This is completely down to whether you buy the starlink or rent it.
We paid £300 for the disk and router from currys. £50 for the roof bracket - £50 for installation kit which includes wall clips directly from Starlink. We did the install ourselves but you can add another £250 if you get a company in to mount it.
I think it’s the initial cost if you choose to buy, which is pricey.
And of course you can just sit it on your lawn with the kick stand or flat roof, but it wouldn’t be secure from strong winds.
Our power lead which goes to the disky, went bad and we submitted a support ticket with starlink and they sent a replacement free of charge [1] even though we purchased from a third party authorised seller. Which was fantastic and excellent customer service.
Furthermore if you choose to rent it (includes everything we paid for minus the installation, (kit) and bracket) it would only be £40 a month for 100mbps.
Which given some people don’t have access to fibre is a fair price I think and especially if you are out in the countryside with poor phone signal.
We regularly use over 4TB of data each month in our house so the £80 a month [2] is worth it for a decent internet connection

I absolutely would install it myself as I was a systems engineer in the telecoms sector for 28yrs would you believe until around the covid time.
We are very light users here, hence why we can cope with 8mps on adsl. We don’t watch tv or have any streaming services to worry about, that’s why I’m annoyed that we are charged so much.
We’ve had Virgin/Telewest cable available here for probably 20 years, Openreach have similarly had fibre here for about 5 years, but have never bothered with that either.
I’m off to look at Starlink’s web page now

@Holly_Love @Simon_101 @Stacy2 there now seems to be a satellite service provided by O2 now might be something to look into it might be cheeper in the long run!

Yeah I saw that @Long-John-Silver. Only negative was it works best when outdoors and only allows basic tasks. It’s probably cheaper but has more drawbacks. And you won’t beat the coverage that starlink offers. I’m such a geek and I often track the satellites over the UK here - if you are interested 
Amazon also do similar, but again with less infrastructure in place. I hate the starlink price, but their service is miles ahead of anyone else who offer such internet.

I have absolutely no interest in satellites @Stacy2 what so ever 
I don’t and never have taken long exposure shots to catch their trails
- Mount your iPhone securely to a tripod.
- Open the native Camera app and turn on Live Photos (the concentric rings icon in the top right).
- Tap the screen on a bright star or distant light, then hold your finger down until “AE/AF LOCK” appears to freeze the focus.
- Tap the shutter right as the satellite passes. Do not touch the phone for the 3 seconds it takes to capture.
- Open the photo in the Photos app, tap the “Live” dropdown menu in the top-left corner, and select Long Exposure. The satellite’s movement will instantly turn into a solid line.

I can bearly take a selfie, so I’ve no chance of taking photos of satellites, though you lost me at IPhones with small screens
And by all means you would definitely get on with my OH because he’s a photography nerd

I use Opera browser for reddit @Hannahnim works ok but can freeze up but that might be speed related.

A favourite was visiting Rovaniemi before we had the little one and getting to watch the Aurora. We’ve had two photographs he took put onto canvas and they are hanging in the hall way
