This sounds like bull to me (not saying you’re lying, just that I feel you may have been given bad info)… that it the guy who said it was bad at business.
If someone reaches out expressing interest in your service - at an inflated cost - then you wouldn’t/shouldn’t immediately drop the cost without reason.
As part of an active negotiation, maybe, but woman: ‘hey I’m looking to pay £1,000 for your services’, man: ‘nah, I’ll charge you £500’ doesn’t sound right to me.

Women using a male escort is a little more common that what is thought, at least that’s my opinion. I have a former co-worker I’ve remained friends with for years. I was born early 80’s so I can’t say for sure that far back. It may be more a function of age but my guess is it probably has since the acceptability of many things sexual has become more broad.

Since we can’t insert links, if you google this topic, women who use male escorts, you’ll find many articles from like 2017 on up to now talking about this.
While there really aren’t statistics on this, it has been growing. From what level to now I can’t say.
But there are more women now who use male escorts than decades ago. Again, if you peruse Google and search about this you’ll find many different articles on this.

And in this day and age (the last 20 years too, not just today) there is a much larger grey area with this too. Meaning it’s not simply hiring a male escort from an agency.
The so-called grey zone I’m referring to now is when cougars will begin to see a younger man. The man isn’t an escort, he’s not working for an agency, he doesn’t advertise in any way, shape or form about being an escort.
But, said cougar will see a man and she will pay for their meals, their dates, then their weekends away and she will buy him gifts, cologne, clothing, watches etc. Then some of them will begin to give the man money too.
Do all cougars do this? Of course not. I haven’t said they all do or that even most do, but some do this.
Now, this works in reverse too. Sugar daddies. There are sugar babies too, getting money to pay their way through college from rich older men, or rent when they are out of college etc.

There is such a big grey area in things like this.
Think of women who are exchanging sex for favors, for rent from their landlords. They may have never been a prostitute or an escort in their life but they were down on their luck and needed to do something to keep a roof over their heads, over their child’s head so they begin to “see” their landlord as a way to pay their rent.
They aren’t walking the streets, they aren’t a part of an escort agency, but they are “seeing” a man and getting something in return, either money or free rent or lowered rent etc. Women like that would never show up in any statistics either, again should such statistics ever be taken.
