Honest feedback and no bad comments / slagging off. I find people are very supportive and wanting to help / advise.

Please ignore the OMG topic. I posted something sensitive in members only asking for advice. It then popped up in general topics and i panicked because i didnt see the padlock next to it. Now i cant get rid of it… Im such a donut, can anyone just get rid of it for me :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

@Jocat26 where are yiu off hiking when in scotland?

Dont say when, trying to keep it in the rules lol
As a native haggis chaser, if i can i can offer places for food etc in towns or areas youll be.

Not being a creep lol

We’re going to do Ben Nevis :grimacing: so will be going to Ayr, Fort William, Fort Augustus and Edinburgh. We’d appreciate any recommendations for the 1st 3, Edinburgh I think we’ll just follow our nose

Edited to add…I assume you’re talking to me @Bigiain, I don’t have a 26 in my name but it would be too much of a coincidence to have 2 Jocats going hiking in Scotland

@JoCat aw lush East Coast is stunning! Ben Nevis is up by Glencoe which I’m hoping to visit this summer to see the red deer. If you’re driving through Loch Lomond and the Trossachs it’s beautiful and I’d recommend definitely planning a stop at Loch Lomond or Loch Lubnaig on the way up/down they are gorgeous nature spots.

Loch Lomond is one of our stops :upside_down_face:

You might try under “cheeky” styles. Might be a cheeky panty or cheeky bikini.

Yes, you lol
Ayr…on my coast. If youre coming up the A77 stop at the wee orange shed before you come into Girvan called Daves shack. Soup is good and does decent rolls for lunch.
Ayr itself isnt to great for food etc, its nice to walk about in, the Lang mile by the beach etc.
There is a place does decent fresh food called Wild dough, its on the gram. There is a place does decent coffee, called Gro, also on the gram, its next to tim hortons there. The cakes are shote, but food and coffee is good in their other place.

Your drive up to fort william, the A82, will take you up by loch lomond, glencoe, loch etive eyc etc
Plenty of amazong places to stop for views etc…beware of the deer though. Ignore the green welly, its a tourist trap.
The kings hotel just past glencoe is nice for food, well it was when i was there years ago.
Be careful when driving up this road…people will drive slow to take in the views (understandable) and just stop dead or pull in with no thought. So please be careful and of course…dont do it yourself  there are plenty of stopping points where you might need a little walk back.

Fort william, i find boring personally. There is a seafood restraunt on the front as you drive up towards the town called Crannog, never been but it gets good reviews, might be better booking that,
We ate in the Geographer in the high street, it was decent to be honest.
Fort william (for me) is a stop gap. Go to your trips from there within reason, if that makes sense. I find the place boring. If its summer time, you can drive about 30mins up the road to Glenfinnan viaducts and see the Harry Potter bridge, depends time if the year, you might see the steam train. Jacobite express.

Ben nevis is right behind there.

Fort Augustus again, ive never stopped there. I just drove through it every time.

Edinburgh, aw man, there is actually loads to do there and eat there now.
There is Jt James quarter which has a very good food court, and shopping area.
There is another place out the back of there i think its the Omni center, loads to do and eat in there, street food pop ups etc.

Or if youre looking for a really nice sit in meal thats fancy, The Outsider is awfa good.
Loads to do, eat & see in Edinburgh,

Hope this helps and again, questions ill happily try my best

P.s dont worry about Duck bay marina at loch lommond, load of shite aswell

Amazing! Thank you so much for this! Loch Lommond, Glencoe and Loch Etive are planned stops for us. I’m gonnae have to look up the green welly lol good shout on the people stopping on the road. Fort William is are base for most of those and Fort Augustus is the same.

We’ve so many places planned, the Devils Pulpit is one of them, slightly terrified of the stairs but I’ll just sit on my bum if needs be lol

I’ve wanted to do this trip for years and to do it with my sister just makes it better!

Yeah i know where you are. Parking is a nightmare at devil pulpit. I had some pictures from a phone that looked amazing, and i want to take my dslr camera and go back, but ive bot been able to, even though it is 40mins from my other halfs house lol

Glencoe, there is a place just past it called clachaig inn aswell for food, its a good hearty wee pub lunch place. Also youll pass thw Drovers inn which is worth a stop, another pub that does food etc but its haunted as fuck.

Yeah, the road can be scary on your first few times on it, youre so close on coming traffic etc at times and some tight corners, the driver will need a rest about the green welly lol

We took my partners Australian family up to glencoe once, its a 2hour drive roughly and i swear the driver got out with white knuckles and my first words were “you can breathe now”

Like i say, happy to help, depends what youre after to see or areas youre not sure of whats worth going to or not, if i havnt been i know some one who has.
Or one the other scots on here can help

I read that out to my sister and she’s the one driving :rofl: tiday is just a few stop offs along the way to our first hotel. Neither of us got much sleep so we’re running on excitement just now.
