Hi @Oldman We don’t have a generator and most folk in the uk will not have one either. We are lucky we have a log burner so can at least stay warm.
This is where my work concentrates its focus nowadays in Scotland.
Using the cars ev battery in vehicle to grid connections and the house battery powered by overnight low tariffs, solar panels and either heat pumps or inferred heating. I’ve been able to make homes on and off grid as they wish to be. Which means some of my clients were able to get through the storm without any loss of comfort and could live like so for about 5-7 days.
Meanwhile my house is fine but my family have been without power for days.
Replying here @Analizer so as not to derail the original topic.
To me, the difference is that the topic you mentioned is open to all to reply to. If it was ‘Men, why are you afraid of sex toys?’ It would likely be picked up as gender biased, but as it is, it’s not.
We’re all human and far from perfect, so stuff does get missed but hopefully that explains it a bit
PSA - this is just my personal view on it
Much of our residential power lines are underground , it is the main high voltage transmission line on towers or poles . In much of the country there are trees , trees and more trees . Then there are the mountain ranges . The variances in terrain and weather are across the board . Also the distance many power lines cover can be staggering . UK has a land mass of 94,058 and the US 3,531,905 square miles . Variety causes many design and maintenance issues . During our last power outage several neighbors with EVs had to leave them parked , lucky for both they also had ICE vehicles . California has many fires caused by the very people who are claiming to protect planet earth . The bankrupt power company has been spending billions trying to meet the state’s mandate for renewable energy , at the cost of replacing power lines that may be up to 100 years old . The same groups stopped the state from clearing underbrush and removing dead trees . The topper was to let a high percentage of the water in the north to run into the ocean to protect an extinct small fish . We do not lose power too often , but I much prefer to be ready , could be my experience from my fire dept. days or when I worked on farms .
We went “out out” a couple of nights ago to watch a live local band. A very good night was had by all.
But, I noticed a lady in a black dress, with big white spots…and a black choker!!
Mrs @Wurger, you hadn’t flown over here with Pen for a quick weekend away had you, and not told us all
Mrs W here …
@Latino_Caliente … Mmmmmmmm sounds like you had a good night, hope it continued when you got home. Sadly no, it wasn’t me you saw, I was stuck all weekend in our home town. Anyway, whilst I have black dresses and black chokers, nowadays I haven’t got any spots - white or other colours … believe me, if I went to the Iberian Peninsula or nearby islands, I would be asking on here the places to go … I appreciate that you like the short tartan skirt, Thank You. It is really a little short for the office, but I do like it for the very simple reason that, together with the high heels it does give the impression that it makes my legs look longer than they actually are …
Well I bet people in the north wish they had generators after the little blow . Appears several probably wish they had a chain saw and a wood stove too . As a former rescue person I love hearing “ We don’t lose power “ . At least until it goes out . Just the cost in spoiled food can easily cover the cost of a generator .
Random thought. It’s wild out there. This forum is the safe corner of the internet for kinky people
Good morning Mrs @Wurger,
Unfortunately not, the good vibes did not get as far as the bedroom. Ours is like a desert with tumble weed blowing around…not much happening!
If ever you were to visit our neck of the woods, I’m sure you would get many suggestions. I know a couple of people on here that like to come and stay.
I think @batjamboree is due out soon?
I like pleated skirts in general. They hang and move differently to a plain one as well as show off a bit more leg!
Going off at a tangent for a sec…
Ever since your first post about the chance meeting with Pen after the office drink some months ago, I am pleased for you how your life is going currently.
With Mr W working away as he does, you have a companion and are not alone. I’m sure the nights were lonely before?
I’m sure that Mr W will be happier in that respect.
Just my thoughts
Mrs W here …
Oh dear @Latino_Caliente … I am sorry your return home following your evening out was not better … Ah yes, rest assured that when we can holiday out that way we will be requesting the places to go (or the opposite) … I have always liked the effects of the pleated skirts I have (I think they make a “hip-sway” a bit more apparent) …. I am sure they are the same on all, but I think carrying a few extra ounces (as I do) accentuates those effects … Oh yes before Pen arrived, I was a bit lonely when Mr W went away mainly because we had not started like that, he was always here, but in his case work dictated lifestyle … unless one decides to change work, it’s all just a balance really and whether it ever reaches the tipping point. The evenings were lonely because I think I have explained before, the toys definitely carry out their function, they are not like a real-life hot-blooded person and do not do the little extras like a cuddle, go and get a drink and other little “extras” that we all like …
Thank you Kind Sir @steve19 for your kind words that are very much appreciated xx … Oh yes Steve, the birds were singing away as I walked to the station and to the office – I know its gonna get worse again, but this morning was a welcome portent of Spring, and I am really looking forward to it … Ah last evening too much vino resulted us in watching a recorded tv programme, Pen loves the ghostsearchers type things … and we do get up quite early in the week …
A week today we have a boudoir photo session for my wife (72) for Valentines day.
We asked the photographer how many outfits to bring and he said “Bring everything”.
That’s a bit impractical so we had a fashion show this morning with her trying on all the various pieces of lingerie (mostly mine) that we might take in order to narrow down the choices.
She looked absolutely amazing in pretty much everything she put on and I had trouble keeping my hands off her as I was helping her dress and undress (Parkinsons) but we ended up with
Bra and knicker sets in dusty green and in cobalt blue.
Bra top and micro shorts in distressed denim
Bra, knickers, stockings and suspenders in red, white and black.
Crop tops in red, white and black.
Black leather jacket.
4" heeled black sandals.
Black studded boots.
Whip (to go with the black outfit and leather jacket).
By the time we’ve mixed and matched we should have enough combinations.
Hopefully I’ll be able to post a couple of the better images on the forum.
I’m due to fly over in March and plan 2 month stay - cannot wait as it’s just freezing over here at the moment/ how you doing …
You have hit the nail on the head there Mrs @Wurger
Nothing wrong with a bit of hip swing to get me hot under the collar!!
I agree entirely about Pen being there (not just for sex) for chats, giggles and general companionship.
As I said, I’m pleased that things have worked out for you, and all three of you are in a good place
Good morning @batjamboree
Oooh…I bet you can’t wait to get here. March is when the warm weather starts (not that it’s cold now!)
We have had some storms again over the last week. High winds, rain and rough seas. That seems to have passed now and we have blue sky again.
We’re doing fine. Mrs LC and I, although retired, have our fingers in many pies doing voluntary work within our local community. We see other retirees spending their time in the bars every day. That’s fine when on holiday, but not good for your health seven days a week. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not judging. Each to their own. We are busy most days, so a night out to a bar (like last Sunday to watch a band) makes the evening a bit special.
Hope you’re both well
I love this! And lol at “bring everything”, picturing the look of shock on the photographers face when you pull up with a lorry. Hahaha!
Mrs W here …
@Latino_Caliente … hahahahaha “hot under the collar” hip swing always works … Thank You xx
Mrs W here …
@steve19 … Thank you Steve, much appreciated … Not sure but I think I have put a photo on wearing one of the red LH bras, I may have to do more - don’t know about “stunning” though, but Thank You xx … yep 2 cups early morning and they are very full …
xx
But what we really want to know is, was it tea or coffee??
Oh I love a good bit of hip sway, and the shapes dresses make with it. One of the reason I like 50s style dresses, is that they are fuller and sway superbly.
Mrs W here …
@KinkyMira … what was that woman’s secret please Mira?
