Thinking right now about everybody else like me who has a mother that wasn’t all kind and loving, one that was abusive, neglectful and the like. In my case, my mother is not someone to be celebrated and thanked.

Also thinking about all those who have lost their mums and it still hurts.

Mother’s Day is meant to be about joy and having a great mum. Please spare a thought today for those for whom this day is very hard.

I have exactly the same feelings, for much the same reasons, on Fathers Day.

Thinking of you and many others , not everyone was as fortunate as myself who had a loving, supportive mum. Big hugs all around.

@MsSubExperimenter

Should we bring the Chicago talk here or migrate the whole conversation to its own topic?

Was thinking it should probably be moved - was about to do it haha

Is it just Fanfiction or erotic fanfiction?

You can’t make Chicago Med any racier than it already is can you? They just seem to look at each other and jump into bed or janitor’s cupboard together.

And Chicago Fire is to wholesome and family together in the fire house to be naughty. Or is this after the cameras go away,

While Chicago PD has so much sorrow and death it’s heartbreaking. But at least it has the cage.

Oh there are some bits that are family friendly, but not all of it

It definitely has plenty of smut, but also sweet, wholesome vibes.

I still miss some of the characters that have left haha (looking at Shay, Connor, Jay and Mouse mainly :face_with_hand_over_mouth:)

Fire is only clean on the surface

Now you mention Shay I’m remembering Dawson too, so you say the fire burns deeply and smoulders until given breath.

Is it just for your eyes only or do you put it out there for concerning people to read?

I wonder if anyone else in the forum watches/watched Chicago PFM and who’s their favourite character.

It’s out there in the big wide internet somewhere, not sure I can say where

Ugh Dawson. I liked her at first but as her character developed she got worse

Yeah, I wonder if anyone else loves the Chicagos

It’s mine too, worked my way through P.D. and Fire and on season 3 of Med!

It is interesting to me how popular the fire and police shows are . I myself have very little interest . That could be because I was a volunteer for both back in the 80s . We saw many things a person never wanted to see . That’s where my PTSD really kicked in after quitting . For many years it would kick in just by hearing sirens . Also TV shows or movies . Much better now , but I still do not watch shows depicting them . We witnessed the worst of people almost daily . The “saves” and rescues were the highlights . Occasionally there were situations where patients would come on to us and try and get your phone number . However we really maintained professional standards . The most calls in a year I ever did was around 320 , remembering most of us were volunteers . That is not counting drills and practice and school . I bet if I had not been " in the business" I would be enjoying the shows also . As a side note , we would run out of money for supplies later in the year ( property taxes were much lower for fire back then because of us volunteers ) . I tried to get a sexy fireman , women calendar started with no luck . I myself was a body builder along with multiple others and I think we could have raised some serious money .

I think that’s partly why I like these, they’re not all shallow and don’t gloss over the hardships and realities of the downsides. I know Fire has firefighters on the crew to keep fire scenes etc as true to life as possible within the remit of a TV show.

Yes it’s obviously dramatised, but it gives a glimpse into what those incredible people do and go through.

I have the utmost respect for first responders, I couldn’t do it.

Me too. Only started watching around October cos my favourite band is Rush, and i read there was an episode called 2112 based around a Rush show, so i watched that and enjoyed it. So worked my way through Fire, then P.D. now Med. I was initially confused by some abrupt endings without resolution eg-Severide’s car being found at the scene of an accident and him at home with a head injury and drunk, but soon realised there were crossover episodes even with Law and Order SVU, and made a list of them via Google and made sure to watch those. Will have to try and watch the short lived Justice once i’m fully caught up!

Haha yeah there tends to be a crossover in most seasons

Mouch in 2112 amused me  I want Sev’s cars haha!

Come to think about it Connie could be quite dominant in the series what kind of woman is she in your stories.

Oh yes! :oncoming_automobile: Actually saw Jesse Spencer in pantomime as Jack in Jack and the Beanstalk around 1999…he wasn’t very good! Around that time he missed out on Annakin Skywalker in Attack of the Clones,
he’s improved and come a long way since Neighbours!
