The Lounge

We rode home on a combination of a failing alternator and the battery (250 miles). By the time we got home we were running on the battery only at 11.5v.

The parts are available (it’s a 40 year old bike} but it’s an engine out job to fix.

It’ll be about £250 in parts and I’ll fix it myself.

Well done @rockstar for nursing the bike home. You probably had a bit of power spare with 11.5 volts.
That’s a big old job then, to take the engine out to change the alternator. Plenty of space and a strong trolley jack and cradle needed I reckon?
I worked in a garage many, many years ago, and we could send starters and alternators away for refurbishment…not anymore!

Your trip back reminded me of something I did when I was about 20 yrs old.
I’d borrowed my girlfriend’s mum’s car to take us up to East London.
On the way back, the clutch went. With a bit of gentle revving, I was able to change up and down through the gearbox really smoothly, and we got all the way home.
It was late at night, so no traffic, but traffic lights were a bit of a problem!!

First time i have worn it and have only been out in the garden so i dont know yet. Hopefully if we get some nice weather over the weekend might wear it to one of the country shows we are going to.

I do wear it outdoors but without so much shoulder exposure! Not the shorts though, they are strictly house or garden only.
Its got a bit of a 70’s vibe about it, with the embroidery.
I love that sort of look, reminds me of the cheesecloth tops I had back in those far away days … showing my age here!

I remember cheesecloth shirts that i used to tie at the front with a little pair of denim shorts. Those were the days.

Mine were more the hippy style longer ones with coloured embroidery. Used to wear with jeans or a long wrap around skirt and what we used to call “love beads” and lots of jingly bangles.
Obviously doused liberally in Patchouli oil too!

We certainly need to invest in air conditioning- but it’s not cheap

The only place that’s cool is our sex room which is in the house (basement area) - but there are no windows and while good for play and sex we cannot stay there all day

I’m back in November so will try and get some prices as everyone says to get done in winter as cheap

Basements (sex rooms) are always cool, but as you say, you can’t stay there all day!
The new style of AC are very quiet and very efficient, so well worth the spend. You can thank me in November :kissing_face_with_smiling_eyes:
Make sure you get ones that do heat as well.
Not long now and you’ll be leaving us :smiling_face_with_tear:
It’s been nice knowing you’re just down the road…well, 5hrs away! xx

The we first month we were decorating but since then we have enjoyed all there is to offer

I cannot believe how friendly the locals are and the cost of tradesmen is so low compared to uk as we had our lounge and kitchen floors re tiled

In the past month - it’s been so hot we have not got up to much - the odd fiddle / blowjob in the middle of the night - but in the past week we have got our second wind as its slightly cooled and we play a lot after 10pm

Cannot wait to come back and properly chill later this year :lovehoney_heart:

Good morning @batjamboree,
From what you are saying, I’m assuming you own the property and it’s a holiday “bolt hole”? Unfortunately though, you have to be a “90 day-er” since Brexit, which is frustrating at times!
Do I remember reading somewhere that you drive down to VM?
If so, what route do you take here and back.
I only ask as we have done it twice. Once through France on the train, and the other, up past Madrid to Santander, and then on the ferry.
I preferred the ferry as it gave us a 24hr rest and a chance to eat a proper meal and have some drinks, before our onward journey.

I agree, the locals are friendly, especially if you try a bit of Spanish. We also have had work done at very reasonable rates.

Ha ha…I’m jealous of the fiddles and the BJ’s…I tried last night and had yet another knock back…but is a post for the “Rant” thread!
Enjoy your day xx

Guess not. Your missing out

We flew out this time from Bristol - but we did drive before over 3 days - not sure the route - all I recall it was expensive on the road toll

Thank you @Mel3 … very much appreciated… yes it is distinctive but its a pity they have changed since years ago - still if its nice, then its good enough Love xxx

When we first came out here @batjamboree we drove, as we needed to bring personal belongings…and two cats!
With the cost of the Chunnel train, hotels, tolls and fuel for three days, it wasn’t as cheap as flying. But, we had a car here for five months, which offset the initial cost as hire cars aren’t cheap for that length of time.
We did one more trip back, on the ferry, to finalise things in the UK, get rid of the car and now any trips are now in and out of Stansted airport as our roots are in Essex.

I guess you’re packing now? xxx
