Oh yes please, Bakewell Tarts, but not the real ones, I like the ones you get in supermarkets in packets with icing and a cherry on top … yum yum xx

Pain aux raisins “Or / and” Pastel de Nata the Portuguese Custard Tarts, they both have my attention when we go to Lidl. Other stores are available somehow some always end up in our basket ![]()

Mrs W here ….
Yes they are a wonderful tasty treat @Long-John-Silver …. what I meant is they are not the same as the Wiki definition of a Bakewell Tart xx
I consider them Bakewell 2.sweet the ones with a layer of icing bath equally perfect. @Wurger
Me too not a fan of mince pies…Christmas cake or Christmas pudding…all too stodgy…
But always loved picking the layer of icing off…then the cake…& just eating the marzipan…![]()
But he likes christmas cake and christmas pudding just not mince pies. Hes weird that way
Sorry @Wurger I shouldn’t laugh but

The only thing I liked about Christmas cake as a kid was the icing, wasn’t keen on the marzipan but put up with it just to get the icing! Now love the full cake and mince pies! ![]()
Aldi’s chocolate covered marzipan bars at this time of year are amazing!
Bought 2 packs last time I was in…![]()
See if they last…![]()
I have to exert great self control and only eat half a bar at a time! ![]()
Lidl do a chocolate covered custard cream of bourbon biscuit- about £2.50 and you only get 6 - but omg they are amazing
Aldi do some really lovely chocolate bars. We used to get those little bags of chocolate barrels that had alcoholic fillings, a bit like liqueurs. Haven’t seen them around in our Aldi for quite a while though ![]()
Ive had the M&S version…. This is the reason we never have biscuits in the house…
My belly is growing
The M&S are great but these have more chocolate on them (however the M&S gave 8 in the pack compared to 6)
Is there a difference in price as they sound yummy and something enjoy over Christmas
The Marks and Spencer ones are £2.99 compared to Lidl at £2.49 - you get more from M&S but the Lidl ones have more chocolate
Thank you @batjamboree
