@I_ll_try_anything I moved this here so as not to distract from the other thread.

I’m a massive tinglehead! I remember my grandmother used to fold cellophane bags and crisp packets up all small, and I can remember the soft crinkles when she did it. I’d be trying to focus on doing a crossword or a wordsearch and my brain would just be goo. I used to get it when my Mum helped me blowdry my thick hair after swimming as well.

I thought I was the only one, or it was just generic blushing and everyone got it, but then I saw a mention of it on Russell Howard’s Good News and I was like… ā€œwait, I think I get that tooā€. Looked it up and unlocked the tingles.

Tingle naps are the best naps

The above mentioned probably isn’t CC’s best vampire video, this is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfrcAIiP4-Y

Then there’s his ā€œsubjectā€ series… :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

My mum used to do my hair too when I was a kid and got the tingles. Never thought much of it until I got with my OH and she likes to kiss my neck, nibble my ears and whisper to me. I just melt.

I also produce sound design and ambient music for my own amusement and have loads of environmental recordings that help me get to sleep. Not so much tingly as comforting.

I’ve toyed around with making my own ASMR content as well and get loads of compliments on my voice (I’m south-west UK, although I’ve passed for north London before now :joy:) . The problem I find is that a lot of microphones seem to make me sound really nasal, even if I’m not a nasal speeaker, so I just get frustrated with it and give up. I also find talking without a conversation really weird.

Oh, and my inner Domme comes out and wants to torture with tingles, which is possibly not entirely a bad thing

I don’t know what a North London accent sounds like but I know Bristol and have friends in Devon and my first thought then was Miriam Margolyes voicing the old Cadburys Caramel adverts .. I remember her voice could silence a room.

I never record my own voice but issues could be the mic, environment, maybe the pre-amp or maybe you could do some work with EQ to target certain frequencies.

I’m Bristolian, although I’m from north Bristol so the accent is softer and more ā€œtip of the tongueā€ than it is in the south or east of the city. Best example I can find is this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wosinmfH4Pw

I can safely say that I do have what I can perhaps call my ā€œMariam momentsā€ as well, and I’ve definitely silenced a room on more than one occasion. Not intentionally — I didn’t know UK-Australia relations were that much of a riveting topic for some people, but here we are!

I think that’s just it, it seemed more of a technical thing for me than a ā€œmeā€ problem. I’m a writer, I gathered that perhaps I should just stick to what I know best.

Yes I recognise that accent though I doubt I’d be able to pick out the variations. When I was younger we spent a lot of time between Stratford and Bristol. Miriams a treasure. We were obsessed by Monkey as kids and she did most of the womens voices in that. I hope when I get to her age I too can give not a single sh*t about what people think. I’m trying.

Its always worth learning new skills. If you wanted to jump into editing the sound you could do worse than Audacity or Pro tools First. Both are free but professional level.

Not giving a damn takes time and practice. I wish I could advise, but even if I say I don’t, I often do. More deeply than I care to admit.

Thanks for your advice. I’ll have to dig my microphone out and play around with them sometime. Definitely not today! I’ve got a big piece on the table this week, my first of three for Enhance the UK’s ā€œLove Loungeā€.

Put a pair of cargo shorts on earliert that i haven’t worn for a few years to go out in, put my hand in a pocket and felt something folded up and shiny, assuming it was a Ā£5 or Ā£10 note, it turned out to be a doggy poo bag! Just my luck! :poop: It’s lasted well cos it’s been through the washer at least once! :joy:

Mrs W here …

Thank you @steve19 all very much appreciated love … I try to stay young , because this ain’t a dress rehearsal - have always pushed the boundaries to see how far the elastic would stretch without snapping - yeah, it did snap a couple of times, but thats ok providing you learn from it … and I did, fortunately… whats with the G-string please love? xxxx

I was convinced I read yesterday that you said you had taken off the G string and put it in a drawer . I assume because it was too hot. May be it was in my dream’s, that was why I commented. Sorry if i was wrong. It does sound very sexy though. @Wurger

Mrs W here …

I did remove the G-string because I was too hot @steve19 … I just wondered why wearing a G-string makes me confident love? xxxx

Just a random question to throw out there…

Has anyone starting receiving email notifications of posts and comments in the Forum.

It started yesterday and the first one was Mrs @Wurger replying to @steve19 about a G-string in a drawer. At first, as it was an email, I thought how on earth has she found my address (not that I minded too much)…but then more starting coming through, and I have had more this morning from various people in various posts.

I never subscribed to receive notifications, to my knowledge, and was just wondering if anyone else has started getting them?

Yes me too! I had a few pop up from @WillC and @Stacy2 I wondered what was going on :joy:

I was tampering with the settings yesterday and trying out dark mode, which I didn’t like, and thought I must accidently activated some email notification thingy.
