Message was well and truly received @Hannahnim! Thank you!

And as @Long-John-Silver said, it’s perfect for… well, you know what!:smiling_face_with_horns:

Oh wow my mum is obsessed with floods so we’re always seeing the latest flood updates around the world and some of the ones in Spain have been wild. Do you get those golf ball hailstones as well?

You know a lot of the times I look at the weather here and it’s above 70%,… A lot of times actually well over 80%. I suppose we’re not far at all from Wales, I have a friend in Essex and it’s like a whole different climate over there, she’s always got different weather to us. But yeah, it’s very humid here as well, but I suppose with the heat it would make it really oppressive

@Hannahnim have you watched any Katie Roams? It’s on YouTube too.

@Long-John-Silver she’s fantastic (I love when she gets excited, especially when she caught that fish) - not sure if you know this but she has another channel called Katie Hunt - if you are interested in more of her vidoes :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks @Stacy2 I had seen a few of her food vlogs but see there’s now a few more so will go see what entertains me.

I’ve just added her to my subby‘s list and I’ll check her out later – thanks for the recommendation!! Always looking for new ideas as a lot of the Vlogs that we used to watch seem to have given up with it. I think it’s really unfair how much money youtube makes out of these bloggers and how little they earn from it…

Missed the convo about the canals. We live not 100yrds from a branch but sadly its mostly only used for fishing and walking now. Its navigable for a short distance and they do have tourist barges, but plans to rejoin it back to the River Trent have stalled. Or reached a dead end. We walk it quite often and have cycled a good 12 miles of it. Its beautiful but sadly been abused. As new housing estates have gone up, the new influx don’t have the same respect for it. We had multiple families of swans that were killed. The geese all vanished and there’s been an increase in vandalism. But we still see the odd snake, voles and if we’re lucky, Kingfishers.

We’ve moved around a lot but both grew up near a major river. Water’s always been the first thing we looked for when settling in a new place. There’s not many things more calming.

Lambast and Brodick will be bouncing for a Saturday night so all the best on your prowl

Blackwaterfoot is also a nice area and Seal shore camping ground is between Lamlash/ Whiting Bay and Cleats shore and Blackwaterfoot

I wonder who else can recommend some nice places to go on Arran

Unfortunately I can’t recommend anything, but with a bad belly and too much rich food yesterday I couldn’t sleep last night so googled some of those places and they look very nice, very peaceful!! I could imagine especially so on a never-ending summers night. I’m trying to think of the ideal scenario to be starkers there and feel safe… probably when it’s a combined England and Scotland football match.. ideally rugby too.. Get a load of girl pals out and run around starkers, woo!!

Oh, that’s so sad to hear  Unfortunately, when there are shortish canals that branch of rivers, they don’t get used as much because to get onto the canal, boaters have to get onto the river. And that can be very dicey because rivers are usually tidal. And the river Trent gets very big and intimidating, I remember when cruising the cut was trying to get his boat off the river and into the lock to enter the canal and the current… I wouldn’t like to be doing that. If someone lives on their boat, you can imagine the risk involved. I’ve seen it where boaters have gone onto the river severn at Stourport and the force of the water has spun it around and the tiller has snapped off! Luckily they managed to tether the boat down but if the engine, gearbox et cetera fails it’s down the weir we go.

Unfortunately the canal doesn’t get used so much then, and it either gets appreciated more as a nature reserve or is in your case, gets taken for granted. It doesn’t help the CRT really stretched with funds because there’s so many breaches, mostly in Llangollen so the money goes there and the more used canals on the network.

I think the council do have so much responsibility dealing with rubbish tipping et cetera? So, it might be best to complain to them? I’m not so familiar with that sort of thing… But that’s an idea as it’s your community X
