Textures will feel different to smooth, different thicknesses is essentially the same as different dildo sizes; some will work better for you than others but do start with the thinnest you have. Yes, they can do damage. You need to go slowly and carefully. Don’t force them down or go too big as you can cause damage to the urethra. If you get bleeding, stop and get it checked out. As others have said, use plenty of sterile lube, if you really can’t get sterile, a brand new, unopened bottle of plain lube (or individual sachets) may be ok but be careful on ingredients, don’t double dip your sounds in lube, make sure you have clean hands. There is a risk of UTIs and similar from this.

Yes try them they can feel really nice( even my wife likes them in herself ), try the metal ones first and the short ones not the long ones, use a syringe if possible to inject lube inside yourself be gentle it should slide in pretty much with its own weight. If any are made from silicone note even with lube they can drag and may sting after when peeing , IF or when you use the longer ones remove very slowly at first one of mine is 35cm long and hollow with a stopper I also have a set of metal ones that go from 3mm(way too small and dangerous) up to 18mm my limit is 13mm at 8" long
I thought I would let you all know how I got on with my first experience of sounding.
