Though if people had a genuine persona that they used for escapism then I’m not sure I’d count that as ‘catfishing’. 
I think there would have to be some element of deception where they were trying to trick something out of me. Money being the obvious one (but not a problem on here), and the ‘fake’ advice/time-wasting topics (not sure what to call it?) feel dishonest enough to be included.
I think catfish have always existed, Victor Lustig had 47 aliases and sold the Eiffel Tower twice 
. The Internet just makes it easier for them. I think probably there are quite a few on dating sites and all you can do is educate people as much as possible about how not to fall for them.
Certainly some appear here but as others have said generally there’s not much point in catfishing here as there’s no personal information given out by people who know Lovehoney and any shock factor they are after doesn’t really achieve the desired reaction.
For the record…
I do have a cat costume worn for Halloween back in my student days but I hope generally wash well enough not to smell of fish

If you can’t be yourself and be honest why bother joining the whole point of these forums is to make friends hopefully and friends give friends honest advice and are truly concerned about others when things not going well for them no names mentioned but we all gave advice to a certain someone who needed help in their darkest hour that’s what we’re are here for EACH OTHER

I think people use the forum for lots of different reasons. I think the main one would be swopping sex and sex toy advice - but if you can make friends while you’re doing it then that’s all for the good.

Im actually more my true self on here then I am in my day to day life with my friends. I can talk about anything here and I don’t feel like I’m being judged or made to feel stupid but alot of subjects are a no go in my friend circle, si I can’t open up as I would like too. Just glad I can be open on here with my views and opinions.
