An afternoon well-spent on Zoom,
Wordsmithing from your living room.
Hammer, anvil, (plus mug of tea),
Flexing your perspicacity.
It’s a sign of our desperate times
When you’re even driven to rhyme online.
(Though there’s nowt like cajoling verse
From chaotic words, and a world that’s worse).
But pens down, as it’s getting late,
That next bon mot will have to wait.
Beer o’clock, biryani warmed,
TV’s on, and you’ve got the Horne.
Would it be rude to watch and play?
You’ve earned it after such a day.
