Those were the days, now I’ve lost my illusions
Sometimes I wake in the night and
I call out your name :sparkles:

At least to me, the Scorpions have such a distinctive sound. I like it. I don’t like each of their songs, but I do enjoy their overall sound as well a goodly number of their songs.

It’s the German accent. You don’t hear it as much in some songs, but if you listen to them live, it’s very distinctive. I studied language in school so maybe that’s why I have a soft spot for them. I did 5 languages and German was fantastic

5 languages!?!?!

America does a crappy job in terms of having us learn other languages.

Europe is so far ahead of America in this (and quite a few other things too).

I worked for a company in the U.S. that was owned and headquartered in the Netherlands and I was fortunate to take many business trips over there, 5 in total.

Pretty much everyone there knew both Dutch and English except for those who were very old. I was told they teach it in schools, English I mean, and had for a while so pretty much all citizens there now know both English and Dutch.

Plus, like America, Europe is a melting pot. In the corporate office folks working there were from Australia, Morocco, Spain, England, Germany, China among many other nations.

It was rare to find a person in the corporate office who didn’t at least speak 3 languages and many spoke more. Maybe you worked there

Congrats on knowing that many languages Miss Stacy.

Now someone or a band having a distinctive sound doesn’t mean they sound good, but the Scorpions do.

What a guitar riff courtesy of Steve Morse, you may know him from Flying Colors! :sign_of_the_horns:
