Instrument and Control Technician working on North Sea Oil and Gas Platforms.
• Pros: Daily commute is a two minute walk down the stairs everyday, plus a flight on a helicopter at the start and finish of every trip.
• Cons: Away from home and family for half the year. No emergency services in the event of any form of accident/incident, so a lot of multi-skilling to cover emergency roles.
