I would go with steel ones, I find them very effective and easy to wear even for long times.
Try to work out your size but don't over estimate it otherwise you'll end up buying more(the right size) however this can allow you to stacking them one behind another getting smaller to the front which is also a nice feel and looks good, mine are about 40/44/50mm internal dia.
