@edwards.alij the only adult theatre I knew was the Prince of Wales theatre in Cardiff that back in the 70,s and 80’s was a dirty porno theatre (cinema) - it was a place men would go in raincoats to watch blue porn films - always a place not to be seen

Of course, when I was a student there in the early 2000s, it was the best (by far) of the five Cardiff Wetherspoons rather than a porno studio 
. Still stylised as a theatre though!
@edwards.alij , must admit, I don’t know what you’re talking about really. Is this where an audience goes and watches live sex on stage or do I have the wrong end of the stick?
ETA Okay from @TruthSeeker12345 's response, I think I do have the wrong end, linguistic differences across the pond? From other responses, I’m assuming you mean adult cinema rather than live sex shows. How dull, I think my interpretation would be much more exciting. We went to the Wam Bam Club in London, I loved that and it was adult entertainment but caberet boobs, butts, burlesque, drag queens and circus performers rather than sex.

I do not know much about what is available in Indiana, but apparently there have been, and maybe still are, some adult theaters in Indiana, such as the Theatair X theater in Clarksville. Often, independent theaters will show erotic and pornographic films. Pornographic films with a plot existed more frequently in the 1970s. There are still some pornographic films today that actually have a plot. Full length movies that just show sex for the sake of titillation are not very interesting.

it’s been decades but I used to go to an adult theater in Colorado. it was a beautiful old theater built in the early 1900s. now listed in the US National Register of Historic Places and currently being used as a live music venue.
how was it then? just as you may imagine…sticky floors, random single males in long coats, PeeWee Herman? no, I think he used to hang out in SW Florida 
I’m curious if these places are still a thing? I would guess not but I’m following along

I don’t know of anything here in the UK (much less the US) unfortunately. I do know a BDSM club that has movie nights - funny, I know, but they do.
My thoughts, and sort of in line with what @TruthSeeker12345 said, is that as online content etc is becoming more readily available, these have become a dying thing. Also as I mentioned above, some sex clubs do movie nights, which give you a similar - but not the same - thing. Either way, I hope you find what you’re looking for

There used to be one in the Town by us , what a god forsaken Flea pit , never went in there (honest) but we do go to a club that has its own cinema , worth it just for the sit down !!

Back in the 90’s I went to a theatre in Melbourne Australia. Was lots of movies and live strip shows also had private peep show booths where you could have a good wank watching some woman playing with herself. Only recently I returned there on holiday and the theatre was still there. So I went in to reminisce, wow it had really changed, couple of rooms showing all sorts of porn, no peep show booths or strippers. Just lots of guys with their cocks out wanking away watching the movie or being wanked off by another guy. So a big change from the last time. Was also good getting wanked off by a complete stranger while everyone else was watching.

About 20 years ago I went on a stag night/weekend to Amsterdam from the UK.
The groom to be was exceedingly keen to go and watch a show in an adult theatre which the 6 of us did, not too unwillingly…
I’m pleased that I had the experience but watching two athletic people have sex on stage after some sword and sorcery type cos play fighting with lots of sword sparks and dramatic music, was a little odd and not very erotic. Just a bit of a spectacle and conversation point for the weekend; other acts were on, a nude contortionist and comedy jugglers and we left after an hour or so and went to a conventional night club/bar.
The Adult theatre was quite civilised and housed in a very nice theatre building, with waiters on hand to bring beers on trays to your seat, the first being free after paying some extortionate entry fee.
Secretly I was hoping to see a Burlesque dance striptease act featuring a large Boa or Python snake, as I’ve never seen one in real life and wanted to, I still do.
Hopefully one day I will.
