Advice On Choosing a First Butt Plug

So me and the OH are looking to dabble in a spot of anal play and I have been searching Lovehoney for the perfect butt plug. But after reading the reviews on a number of products I have found that I'm even more uncertain and bewildered now than I was when I started. So I thought I would ask you lovely people for your advice. I had a look around on the forums first and had a look through the Butt Plug Cafe thread but couldn't find what I was looking for.

I've never had anything up there before, so I'm looking for something on the smaller side. But I'm not opposed to starting with something a little more ambitious as I enjoy the feeling of fullness. My biggest concern is that it doesn't fall out once it's in; I don't intend to wear it out and about but I would be absolutely mortifed if it were to fall out during sex.

I have narrowed my list down to the following items, but am still very uncertain and so would really appreciate any first-hand advice about the following, particularly in regards to its tendency to fall out. Or if you have any other suggestions they would be most welcome.

Butt plugs do fall out, that's a fact, especially as the muscles there contract and relax during sex.
I would strongly advise against the Adrian lastic one as it.only has a finger loop it might get lost inwards unless you hold it all the time.

I think of the ones you've linked the one that looks like anchor is the best shaped, but personally I always recommend this one for first timers. ..

Personally I find vibrating ones easier to insert but you can always turn the vibrator off if you want I'd recomend this one http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=29336

I had the Mood one in the medium size and it was pretty great; very secure, the base is comfortable and it didn't start to slip or fall out at any point. The only issue with those ones is that they do restrict access to the vagina depending on your spacing, I had that issue with it and I know of a couple of other people who did too. Apart from that, though, I'd definitely recommend it.

Seconding sub on the finger loop issue, too!

This is the first plug I used, bought by the OH for me, a great present, I find it easy to insert and comfortable when in, and have never had it fall out.

Used it for sexual purposes and for wearing out, it fits snuggly between the butt cheeks.

Have been looking at that one as well but wasn't sure because of the curvature of it. Have added it to my list and will definitely consider it. Thanks for all the feedback so far, it's really helpful :)

Just a note from someone who actually has the adrien lastic one you're looking at, I really cannot imagine it slipping in at all, or out for that matter. The silicone's pretty firm, and the loops not small. Of all my *counts* 7 butt plugs, thats the one that just stays where you put it, and I would say it's perfect for a beginner - it's most definitely NOT a finger loop like the jolie ripples or similar. That said, it's pretty small, and for me gives no feelings of fullness really, so maybe go for a bit bigger if you want that, maybe get that one and another on the 2-forĀ£15?

The Tracy Cox one you linked is amazingly comfortable during sex :) plus it's a lovely size and shape for beginners. Haven't used the others but I can highly recommend that one!

So Would try the medium size at least it will stay it and give a better experience.

From my personal experiance start small. With this being a new area of adventure I would personally reccomend that you start with http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=277 and then if you feel comfortable with that one (meaning, the insertion, the feel, moving around, etc.) then move to the next size up. If you are really uncterian you can always try the good ol' stand by that I know a few women swear by, fingers.

Just having your husband use his fingers may be what you are looking for. Sometimes if you enjoy that then the next step would be to look at toys. I follow the theory of "start small and work your way up" meaning, don't buy something that you'd see someone who's done anal play for years using (i.e. a dinner plate sized toy).

Also remember have fun with this. If you want to make it a really relaxing and enjoyable, try looking into oil based lube, a clitorial vibrator for yourself since some woman can not climax with out extra external stimulation, or even make a shower rituial before hand to get yourself ready for the fun later that night. Try using an anal enema (flushing out anything that might be embarrassing). Maybe an anal plug of your choice to relax the muscles. Or even a numbing gel to help you enjoy it.

Over all start small, keep your comfort in mind and have fun. If you want to keep chatting or have questions, you are more than welcome to message me!
