Oh right. Well, that is a good thing then. Dread to think what kids have been exposed to over the years. When the internet first became a thing, you needed a credit card to access it. I don’t know why they changed it.
Yeah, I don’t want them knowing any of my details. I only started watching because it was easy to access. No worries. I lived without it before, so it’s not the end of the world. It means I won’t be wasting so much time online, which is a good thing. 
That’s even more reason not to do it. I don’t want them having my face on file!

It is for the greater good so I am all for it. I am not going to give my personal details to any such account as I would fear the remote chance of them being hacked. I have plenty of the real thing, as to not worry about not being able to access on line.

Well of course, I trust LH and they even have my card details for purchases.
However, I cannot even see my replies and likes on my Reddit account as I belong to a medical self-help topic that occasionally had photos of body parts on, but not porn in any way.
The site requires me to now upload my driving licence or similar. (to some random site I’ve never heard of) to continue with the content, which is ridiculous. Apparently some alcohol help topics are similarly blocked, which can only do harm.
I think it is the blanket implementation that is wrong, possibly by the site providers as it is easier to exclude the UK rather than risk the consequences.

Just read of a 17 year old male using A.I. to make pornographic pics of female classmates. I’m pretty sure that generation could easily circumvent any age restrictions on porn sites quite easily.

People have already been using video games to trick the AI face scanner. I don’t particularly want to give away my personal details for some virtual sex, but it’s also blocking various Reddit groups for things like alcoholic support. It’s not been very well implemented or secure.

Yes kids should be protected but we were kids once and we know theres way around things like this.
Not old enough to drink/smoke/vape: get someone to buy for you, Fake ID, etc.
There are so many videos on phones that can be shared and viewed by kids these days, you see them sharing videos and images all the time so it could still happen despite the age verification thing.
Not to mention VPN’s, just change your location and view what you want.
Kids should be protected, i agree but its interfering with so many people. Im not exactly thrilled to have my details and image stored on adult sites if it wont be protected properly etc.
Thousands of people have been hurt and even killed doing stupid “trends” but sites like tik tok are still going and posting

What if a kid accidently stumbles on their parents sex toy or something. They wont blame the parent(who could have prevented it) they will blame everyone else and the places selling them etc. its ridiculous

You mean people using the Death Stranded character generation in photo mode making the character yarn and open its mouth to bypass the AI facial recognition software.
Definitely not a possibility someone would do such a thing, oh wait!

I’ve just deferred to some of less known (more dodgy) websites for my porn consumption, though I am missing Reddit most.
I think something was probably needed, or some form of better regulation, but I don’t think this was the silver bullet they were looking for. It’s just left people who are less tech savvy to be more vulnerable.
But then I’m not sure the government have always been there to protect our general interests anyway, so….

Exactly!!! Also not to mention, gone are the days of porn magazines being on the newsagent shelves for everyone to see which rightfully so they’re no longer at eye level to kids, but let’s face it, our world was in a much better shape of freedom and living than it is now! 
plus did it ever do any damage other than kids asking their parents the awkward question of why is that lady got her milky udders on a book

Can someone explain a vpn to me, ive read all the comments and see various suggestions of names but what does it entail, is it an app? Do you have to sign in or upload details? Do you use a burner email?
While I dont watch a lot of porn, I did like the option! And I’ve said before on here I’ve used it for ideas and no joke education purposes, when I’ve read something and thought wtf is that? Head over and you’ll always find something.
I was particularly enjoying reddit, after only discovering it through this forum and now its gone unless I uploads my details, which im not risking.
In a way I see the verification as a good thing, as the youth today are no longer kids they are being forced to grow up far too quickly, once 18 year olds ourselves, a quick feel of a boob we thought it was wild, now these 18 year olds are out at weekends having threesomes and posting on OF, that is what they are seeing on the Internet like its the norm!
It is important to keep the younger teens safe but parents are ultimately responsible and there are any gods amounts of blurred apps and safety features that can be installed, a blanket approach seems a bit unfair to those who can safely engage.
I’ve done the age check for Porn Hub. It’s not difficult or intrusive. I used an email address I use rarely.
