Anna Span- The First Female Porn Director!!

Well… what can I say. 99% of porn is made by men, for men. My personal views on straight porn (and so- called ‘lesbian porn’) are strongly negative.

For years and years male sexuality has been gratified, using the narcissistic scopophilia of pornography to portray men as strong Adonis- like beings who can bang the living daylights out of women with mahoooooosive silicone breasts who need money to feed their children or their drug addictions.

I have been reading about Anna Span- the FIRST British female porn director who has broken these boundaries down and made pornography more accessible to the ladies. She is a very interesting, strong- minded lady who has a rich academic background and a very open minded. Good for her.

But the question is, do you think it will make a positive difference to the adult industry if more women throw down their feather dusters and oven gloves and get on the feminist porn scene, or do you think porn should be left at what it is today- a controversial, spicy taboo?

I saw a tv documentary about her a few years back. I'd definitely be interested to see some of her work, especially as she goes to some trouble to ensure that all the actresses are actually comfortable and genuinely enjoying themselves.

I'm not a porn video consumer but it occurs to me that her ideas, storylines and presentation style might be more tasteful. I've read Women on Top and Men in Love by Nancy Friday, and I was really srtuck by how much more imaginative and erotic the women's fantasies were. Of course this might simply be due to the type of men who submitted their fantasies, as I think women tend to be more open to discussing these things, but I guess the same thing might be true of porn film directors.

Just to point in some cases men are the ones who are being fucked by these massive fake breasted women. Though I do agree things need to change.

Oh and also to say they need mney to feed their children or fuel a drug addictionis is going over the line. This might aply to some but you might want to consider these are human beings you talking about.

Also there are a large number of female directors out there though admitedly mostly in America. But no matter who is behind the camera selling your body for money is still just that only its more legal.

I'll be watching this at lunchtime...

Interesting debate haha

I have an Anna Span DVD, its quite good actually. Its all girls and at the time of buying I was going through a 'watching men doesn't turn me on' phase!

Its has more of a 'real' feel to it compaired to some porn which can look so fake, from the stars to the scenes
