Any Bikers out there?!

So, anyone out there that rides motorbikes? What with all the fantastic weather we've been enjoying some time out and about on our Suzuki's. Who else out there rides?

Hi there, I have a Triunph Speed Tripple In the only fitting colour (Black).

Wonderful ride.

Oooh, i love the speed tripple! looks great in the black but i think i prefer the green :p ! I ride a Suzuki Bandit 600 K2 and my partner rides a Suzuki SV650 K3.

I love the V twins, sound almost as good as the triple. mine is a 96 model with the big round headlight and drop bars

I'm not a bike rider, but I'm a huge fan of bike racing.

Very impressed with some of the younger brit riders in MOTO2 recently, and Cal is doing a solid job in the big boys class in his rookie season!

I ride a teeny Honda Varadero 125 but recently upgraded to an Aprillia Pegaso 650 which I've not yet ridden since it's at my home in Derbyshire and I'm in Liverpool.

I love my Varadero though, such a great first bike and I'll be sad when I sell her in September!

my partner has ridden a Pegaso 650 and he loved it! how come you are selling it? :(

I'm just not riding it whilst I'm in Liverpool. I sold it on to my brother so I could keep riding it when I was home from Uni but he then wanted something more powerful for when he passes his test and the garage is already filled with a car and 2 bikes so no space to keep the Vara. The Vara is staying until I come back to start my PhD in September but I'm then here for 4 years so it makes little sense to keep it (public transport is cheaper and safer in Liverpool than driving/riding). The Pegaso will be my brother's with the deal that I get to ride it during the holidays as I need it for work and he's been on my Vara for a long while. Plus me being named rider will keep the insurance low.

I'll be sad to sell the Vara but it's just making no sense to keep hold of it. Plus my brother riding it has completely changed how smoothly it rides - he really rags it!

Ooh sorry, i misread it and thought you were selling the Peg!

The Vara's are good little bike, partner learned on a Kawasaki KMX125 and me on a CG125!

I was on the Varadero for a year before I took my test - when I went for lessons before my test I had the option of using one of their little CG125s but I just couldn't get on with it. I was used to the Varadero, enjoyed the height of it, the gears were smooth and it was impossible to stall. So I took my lessons and my test on the Varadero. There's no way I'd have passed first time otherwise.

Partner has just emailed me and told me he started on a Gilera Ice 50cc, moved to a Kawasaki 125KMX that he passed his test on, swapped that in for a Suzuki GS500E which he says was one of his best ever bikes, then went onto a Suzuki Bandit 600S in limited edition yellow, was knocked off that on a roundabout by a car, was then given a Kawasaki VN800 cruiser until his insurance paid out which was 3 years later, which is when he gave back the VN and bought a Suzuki SV650N!

Mine is much simpler.. Honda CG125, passed test, Suzuki Bandit.. and thats what i'm still riding!

In my dreams....

Have an Aprillia Tuono and a Honda Hornet 900 at the mo..

@ Ad.. great choice, I had a Varadero in 01 when they came out.. did 52K on it before parting with it.. great bike. Pity they dont make like a 250 or a 400 as anybody I know that had one would have progressed straight onto one!

I and OH are motorcyclists as opposed to 'bikers' - we ride for the passion as opposed for the fashion! We have a HUGE selection of motorbikes between us - from a 1927 Ariel to a 1962 BSA A10, '57 AJS 350 to BMWs Ks (including sidecar outfit with leading links) and my '87 Honda VT 500 (not a custom!) to my darling little XR125 - £15 year road tax and 140 miles to the gallon!!! OH's been riding 30 odd years and I've been riding 14, since I was 17 (could cycle faster than a restricted 50cc!) . I got knocked off the xr on my way to work last september - idiot driver not paying attention. Not riding yet, will be soon - come rain or shine! The only thing I can be grateul for was that I wasn't on my big bike as she would have been written off and I would have lost my arm :( As it is I've lost my careeer and losing my sanity til I can ride again!! Rode the xr to Cornwall last Febuary - rode home in the snow! When am ride fit and aok i'll be heading to Scotland on the little one!

I'm through the worst of it now and am starting to believe life is good again. It's all luck u know - life n that. Everyone ride safe and take it eazy!xx

I was in Southend over Easter...along with just about every motorbike in the country!

One thing led to another, and I've got the go-ahead to learn to ride once the little'un is grown up a bit!

Yay!

Two wheels good, four wheels...um...practical but uninspiring...?

Once I've managed to get the money together, I'm going to learn to ride. So excited now! In due course, me and the OH are hoping to get a Honda Pan Euro tourer and head off around Europe for holidays...

Little bikes are GRRRREAT! £15 a yr road tax, silly amazing mpg (mine does 140mpg!!) and relativley cheap insurance (depends heavily on type tho & age) AND sweet vibes to boot!!!! (So that's why i've been spending so much on Lh these last 7mths of non riding!!) Not to mention the amount of sexy gear to wear - leathers, boots, gloves etc,etcD69x

Haven't got any time for people who wear shorts and t-shirts even on scooters.. i've seen too many dead bikers and scooterists wearing just that.
