If you were to watch porn as a young/naive person thinking it's a realistic guide to sex, then it certainly would give you a distorted view of the real world. Given modern technology, adolescents have very easy access to hardcore porn. It also happens that mainstream porn has in recent years become more visceral and "extreme" (I use that term in a relative sense. Things like double-penetration and deep throat are now pretty standard, when they used to be more niche).
However, there have always been attempts to blame media for leading young people astray. Grand Theft Auto made them want to shoot people; Marilyn Manson's music made them Satanic; slasher films made them into murderers. These are just easy ways to avoid blaming parents for not properly guiding, educating and controlling their children. With a degree of parental openness and discussion, young people should be perfectly capable of understanding that 1) porn is complete fantasy; 2) it's only a limited range of fantasies, some of which might be harmful and misleading.
Personally, I enjoy parts of the extreme end of porn, precisely because they indulge in fantasies of power and control, degredation and humiliation, etc. Does watching that make me go through life thinking women are sex objects or all penises are two feet long? No, because I can distinguish fantasy from reality.
The porn industry certainly has its problems, not least in the way it treats its actresses. Funnily enough, it's often the more niche markets that seem to have the most respect.
