Booked a weekend away for our anniversary in May and was thinking of things we could do to mix things up a bit. Stumbled across the "Strangers in a bar" thing which could be interesting. We met in the first week of uni through a mutual friend and have been together ever since (20 years) so never really did the whole one night stand/ dating thing. I thought it could be fun to meet for the first time again.
Has anybody tried this? Looking for tips on scenarios and ways to help the evening flow.
Got a few ideas from various articles- a lot suggest adopting whole new personas but I don't think we could keep that up, plus our anniversary is supposed to be a celebration of us so makes sense to be at least a version of ourselves.
Are we two random people that meet in a bar? Is it a blind date? Do we start beforehand by arranging a date by texts? Even thought about setting up tinder profiles, 'finding' each other and messaging in the lead up.
We have done this a couple of times, usually when we are on holiday. We don't go to a lot of trouble setting up the scene, basically we park up and my husband will go into the bar or restaurant first. I follow along later. About 5-10 minutes later. I usually wear clothes that are shall we say more revealing than I would walk around in at our local. 😄. I enter and look around a ittle lost then he comes over and introduces himself as my blind date arranged by a mutual friend. We now talk about ourselves and discuss all the things couples talk about the first time they meet. We don't go in for completely new identities etc as after a time they can become a bit artificial. What does come up in conversation is our attitude to sex. Now this can be as wanton as I can make it. ie I haven't had sex for ages and I am gagging for it or you know I have never done it in a car (lies) to I have a lot if sex toys would you like to see them? The permutations are endless. The end result is always fulfilling and we are usually well turned on before leaving the restaurant or bar. We highly recommend trying this with your own approach. As for us it has led to some amazing sex! 😀

Yes worked really well.........................................after take 3 ! . The difficult part is that you can bump into friends, that kind of messes it up in our case twice. We based ours on the film Brief Encounter but didnt use a Railway Station. Apart from the really big busy Railway Stations many dont have a bar these days . A sad sign of change I suppose.
