Are women's shoe sizes the same as mens?

This is a BIG “if” but I’m kind of thinking of getting some high heels for some pics I want to do, ive been looking for some stockings for myself and all the pictures of them have them in the stockings and heels and now I’m thinking :thinking: it could just finish the look off

Now me in a heel would be interesting I don’t think I’d be walking very far :rofl: I could imagine trying to explain how I broke my ankle to the oh

So are the sizes the same or would I go a size up??

This is a big “if” I don’t know where I’d get some and then where I’d put them if I got some I think if the oh fond them it would be one step to far, well me in women’s lingerie would be a step to far so heels would be even more

Generally you should be able to find heels to fit - you may find them tight at the toes - but for a few photos , then they will be fine :high_heeled_shoe:

Thanks, like i say I don’t know if I can bring myself to do it yet.

I think to myself don’t bother just do them as you have been then I see a pic of some stockings and a really nice pair of shiny high heels and think that would be fun​:thinking:

No, men’s sizes are generally bigger. It’s easy enough to find conversions online though :blush:

Sizes are likely to be slightly different. The other issue you may encounter with women’s heels on a man is the strength of the heel itself. Men usually weigh more than women and historically there were issues with the heel snapping regularly.

The film and musical Kinky Boots is based on a true story, and the company actually exists. Their heels are designed to take a lot more weight meaning they can be worn by a lot more people. Depending on how often you plan to wear them, and how long each time, they might be worth looking into to get some hard wearing and long lasting.

worked in a shoe shop when i was a teenager. women’s 9 was a mens 7 (uk). I think they were 2 sizes bigger across the board.

I’ve bought some previously from a well known on line auction site I’m an eight and a half so didn’t struggle . Also quite often I’ll find woman’s sizes in shops that go that high too

Women’s shoes in the UK are a size down, so if you’re a men’s 8, go for a women’s 9, but eu 42 is eu 42 (eu 42 is a men’s 8, women’s 9).
