It may be a good idea to use a condom. I'm sure you don't telling but some nasties live up that way!

I'm not speaking from experience, but I'm told that Femidoms can be used for anal as well (if you remove the inner ring). The manufacturer's advice is that they're intended for vaginal use only, and they wouldn't provide as effective an STD barrier as an ordinary male condom, but for couples who are keen to try A2M it might be a reasonably good barrier against any nasties, whilst avoiding any faff removing condoms.
My wife and i have given it a go but we both made sure we gave ourselves a good clean first throughly so we both could feel more comfortable with it and also found flavoured lubes made the experience much better esp for her.
