Ball gags

What are people’s experiences of using a ball gag?
We’re considering giving it a try but we are both a bit apprehensive for some reason.

Will follow this thread with interest as I havent tried before but always tempted.

I don’t have a ball gag but I do have a dildo gag which serves the same basic purpose.

It’s as comfortable as I want it to be and I can wear it for long periods.

I wear it when she’s pegging me or when she’s flogging me. It increases the feeling of subservience.

only real thing we’ve found is you need to be wairy of the ‘ball’ size, too big and you will get jaw ache quite quick, and too small you wont be getting the effect of the gag

I just posted a review for the Bondage Beginners Small so I will try to not repeat too much.

I like them. Im very visual and very face oriented so they provide a nice modification for me. SO is less of a fan but its willing to play along.

I highly recommend starting with a small one to see if its for you. Also, dont clasp it in place the first time. Just let the strap portion hang so the wearer can eject it if they find they dont like it.

Finally, you need a safe word replacement. Tapping, snapping, kicking. Something besides “mmmrgrgherff”

Good luck!

Wife and I are quite into a bit of bondage and a ball gag is one of my favorite toys (along with a blindfold).

We have a few, ranging from very strict muzzle and harness types with big balls (2 - 2.5inch), and we have a few smaller ones that we used wen starting out, and are used less nowadays.

A lot of people are a bit scared of them, but there really is no need. LH do a couple of good starter ones:

This one is great as you have 3 sizes to choose from and can work up to the bigger one (which honestly is still fairly small).

This one is exceptionally comfortable due to the silicone extending for a portion of the strap, and the ball is still only 1.5in (1.5 - 1.75 inch is seens as a ‘standard’ sizing range) so most normal size mouths can take it with ease. My wife loves this one as it’s just so comfy, although it’s fairly small we still use it.

Start off with something small and use it on its own, no cuffs or blindfolds or anything else, just get used to the gag and have your hands free so you can loosen or remove it if you need to.

Don’t put it in too tight to start, you can hold it in position easily enough with the strap done up fairly loosely.

Don’t try and wear it for too long, 10 minutes is loads to start with until you get used to it and start to find longer sessions comfortable.

Play with it a bit, have one of you gag the other and give them oral and a bit of a tease before taking it off and getting down to the main event. Or go the other way and have a great session then gag them just before you finish them off so they can bite on it as they cum.

If you’re really nervous then get one and pop it on yourself for a bit of solo time to get used to it before you even involve your partner. My wife bought a super struct muzzle gag with an attached blindfold last year which is a bit intimidating looking the first time. We’d both liked the look of one so she got one as a surprise to wear for me for me,. She later told me she’d had it a few weeks and had worn it a couple of times while masturbating to get used to it before she wore it for me.

When you graduate to using a gag in conjunction with restraints you MUST have a safe signal of some kind, and don’t ever use one if the intended wearer has any kind of cold or sinus issues inhibiting breathing. It’s quite hard to even clear your throat wearing one.

We love them, just buy a basic but good quality one (all the LH ones are pretty good) and have a play. Short sessions to start with no other toys and work up from there if you like it.

Mrs. Freaky and I bought our first ball gag at a local sex toy shop shortly before we discovered LH. It’s more novelty quality than well made. There are air holes in the ball and it has faux leather straps. No regrets as we were just curious and looking to experiment. We will definitely be getting an upgraded one. They are visually exciting and my wife says it makes her feel very sexy. Give a beginner friendly gag a try, you might like it!

I use a medium ball gag as a larger one makes my jaw hurt but i also have a couple of bit gags which are much more comfy and make me drool more which we both love.
Id say give it a try if your interested. Asking fornopinions on here is great but whats amazing for one is an absolute no no for somone else. Youll either love it or hate it. Just ensure you have a sign so your partner knows to take it off if you need it off quickly. Dropping a toy, clicking your fingers, tapping the bed so many times etc.

SW2003 advice is excellent.

My wife has a small jaw so start small and take your time,

In the end we went with this one as it suits our needs perfectly

As stated communication and comfort are the key to enjoying this form of submissive play

have fun

I’d maybe give it a try but at same time I wonder if I’d like it or have a horrible feeling of swallowing it

Advice I can give is if you have never used ball gags before look for one that has the air holes in the ball, it’s very surprising how hard it can become to breathe when you can only use your nose. Also never do them too tight it’s good if the person wearing it can relatively easily push it out of there mouth with there tongue if things don’t workout. Once you are comfortable then start experimenting with solid ball gags and even dildo gags.

You could consider a “dog bone” version too, very good for those people who cant open their mouth very far?

Thanks everyone some fantastic advice

To me, ball gags are a bit like Marmite: you’ll either love them or you’ll hate them. I personally don’t like them, but then it’s kinda hard to brat when all you can manage is “mmf mmf mmf”

Really just to reiterate the wonderful advice from @SW2003 - start small, go for soft-ish silicone, and try for short periods

Gags are great - so many sizes, options… we have a range of drool gags, balls, open ‘o’ shapes, ones with nipple clamps attached, ones with full head straps… endless fun!
