Bondage furniture

Anyone bought or looked into wooden bondage furniture if thats what it’s classed as ?:joy: like st Andrews cross , wooden stocks built into bed frames ect? As been browsing and stunned how much it sells for, being a carpenter/joiner could make things like this at fraction of the price even if i was sell items with a profit. Would this this be a good side thing to get into? Is the demand there if it was at affordable price? Please let me know your opinions

My initial reaction is the demand is not there. If it was others would have started to produce things to make money. However I could be wrong and you may be the one to be the next Bill Gates, Richard Branson.

I agree with @steve19 , the prices are stupidly high because it is a very niche product. Most people, certainly in the UK, do not have the space in their house for pieces like this and without the demand the pieces are “specialist” and the price very high.

I would love some things like this but they’re not practical to keep. It’s hard enough finding space for basic gym equipment and you don’t have to hide that when company comes round!

If I were you, maybe make a couple of pieces, as examples, if you have space in your workshop to keep them and you could then make pieces to order. I don’t think the market will be huge though.

You can buy plans for some bondage furniture such as the St. Andrews cross.

I made some wooden spreader bars which clip to our full length mirror and when I’m fastened to them I’m spread-eagled as I would be if I were on the St. Andrews cross.

I think the problem with most sex furniture is storage when not in use. Permanent wooden structures would only work if you had a dedicated room set aside.

@Chip34
Quality furniture is solid wood and fully made us very expensive and very big - I agree with others to attempt to make it yourself using solid timber and plans available online

We made a spanking bench - it took about 4 hours to make the basic shape and then another 2 days to smooth sand and finish- and it looks stunning :carpentry_saw:

I totally agree with you, on whos got spare room for a sex room , so from the comments these need to be easy to put together and take down to store to make these items more appealing to a bigger audience?

I’m seconding all of the other thoughts here, desire might be high, but space is low. Lots of people might light the idea of some purpose-built furniture in their bedroom/a spare room, but really few of us can afford the space.

You might, however, have some luck creating implements, or something that folds perhaps? The trouble is coming up with something that hasn’t already been done before. Good luck to you!

This is something me and the mrs have wanted but it’s the space issue that’s the problem. If someone come make a reasonably priced but which could fold away then I’d be all over it. We’re looking to move house in the next few years so ideally we want to get an extra room or a basement if we can afford it.

That sounds amazing. Did you cushion it or just go with plain wood?

We did cover it with padding as well as vinyl
