Whats the best bondage kit to get for beginners?
I found the kits a bit hit and miss (no pun intended) I highly recommend choosing the paddle with care - wise paddle is less sting / pain
With other parts again choose separately as some are not good
Depends what you are into, but most people find some form of cuffs and a blindfold to be a good place to start.
LH do a few good beginner sets, see what takes your fancy. You can always accessorize them with more toys later on.
The tie around your robe.
Before spending a bunch of money, figure out if it is something you are going to both enjoy. We started with the a fore mentioned robe tie and then to kit a lot like the Bondage Boutique Kinky Couple Bedroom Restraint Kit. It was OK but velcro just didnt do it. Nothing I could find online fit what I was looking for so I bough some leather cuffs with D links and made my own using rope and metal clips. About the time our kids got old enough to be able to open a door we switched to handcuffs. Time was not our friend so quick on and quick off became important.
If you forced me to pick, I would go with the Couples kit. You will either enjoy it and move to something else or you will discover it not for you and still have a nice sleep mask
I also can’t recommend any starter kits, but much like @RKat suggested, find things you already have on hand that are pervertable to see if it’s something you want to invest in. Definitely make sure everything is clean and in good shape before you use it; nothing kills a mood faster than having your bamboo spatula break mid-session…then, there’s no spanking or eggs for breakfast. It’s just a huge bummer all around.
Here are some items I’ve found that work:
Bamboo spatula (spoons are ok but you really want something with a flatter / larger surface area) or the back of a wide hair brush for a paddle
Some hardcover books also make fun and effective paddles
Dog leashes (nonretractable) for restraints
Bathrobe ties, neckties, and scarves for wrist and ankle cuffs (Google “how to tie a handcuff knot/rope handcuffs”) - these are also good for gags; just ball up some clean socks or undies, then secure with a tie
Sleep masks or scarves for blindfolds
A shortish broom handle for a posture bar
Mini claw hair clips for nipple and pussy clamps (they won’t stay on for long but it’ll give you a bit of sensation to see if you want more of it)
I’ve got dozens of others, so if you want to try something in particular, I’m happy to offer an alternative.
But, for the love of all that is leather, do not use bungee cords or cell phone chargers! I mean there really is a kink for everything, and no shade meant at all to those who are into it, but for beginners bondage, stay away from the bungee!
“Sorry kids, cold cereal for breakfast. Your mother was too naughty for scrambled eggs.”
Hair brushes make excellent paddles and fit right in to some role play.
Search for “stretching band with loops” and you will get straps that seem purpose built for sexy time.
If its not your neck tie, you MUST check to make sure that it is throw away. Better is to go to Salvation Army and get a bunch of $1 ties that he doesnt care about.
I was with you until the last two.
Broom handles are not designed for tensile stress and tend to splinter badly when they break. Use a closet rod instead.
I would recommend going straight to something like the Lovehoney Tease Me Adjustable Nipple Clamps. That word “adjustable” is so important.
Also, we have only used purpose built gags but Mrs Kat is not a huge fan of being gagged so thats a factor.
Think lovehoney actually do a couples beginners bondage starter kit… maybe have a look see
If it’s your first venture into bondage i would recommend LH beginners kit + some bondage tape (just be careful with it).
We’re a big fan of under bed restraints and ball gags but have to be the breathable type
